This is the last weekend of our Play Festival, and then you get to come see this magical show. Playfest Highlight: The Dark Knight Cometh, written by Brody Gogatz, directed by Aleksandr Chernousov. What if Shakespeare's first play was about Batman? It's a comedy of a struggling Shakespeare that is trying to find his voice and not realizing his true muse is Anne Hathaway who may be responsible for some of his greatest words.

Playfest Highlight: Short on Provisions, written by Marie MacMillan, directed by Bets Swadis. Manny, a marine biologist who refuses to believe that wildlife intentionally leave caught prey for humans, receives a psychic visit from a killer whale in human form, Orcino, who tries to feed him a dead fish. Orcino endeavors to listen and give the best advice to Manny, his own scientific subject, who professes plagues of exhaustion, anxiety, and jealousy. In the end, they share more with each other than a dead fish.

Playfest Highlight: Just Another Day, written by William Thomas Berk, directed by Matthew Sunderland. It's a time-loop story told from the perspective of the looper's spouse. It's intended as a poignant meditation on the boring and repetitive nature of domestic life, a reminder to cherish every moment, and other existential themes inherent to the "time loop" subgenre.

Playfest Highlight: Imagine That, written by Bill Lynch, directed by Patrick Clare Lee. Darius is a gay, single content writer. He believes the child psychologist, Dr. Kinder, is uniquely qualified to inform him about matters of the heart. Dr. Kinder insists he see an age-appropriate therapist, but Darius prevails, ultimately getting the advice he seeks from Dr. Kinder – and from a Magic 8-Ball.

Playfest Highlight: Honey, I'm Home! Written by Matthew Sunderland, directed by Steven Neils. A husband and wife are having an argument in their home's kitchen, where what they say to each other is only one small part of what they're actually feeling. Late Husband is, well, late, and Annoyed Wife is rightfully not having it this time. The play is a modern comedy that incorporates Fourth Wall breaking to engage the audience in each character's thought process, and to explore the idea that so much of what we feel is left unsaid, even to those we love the most.

Playfest Highlight: Full Frontal Nudity, written by Becky Mayo, directed by Tasha Danner. A well-know actress is surprised to learn that a part she wants requires full frontal nudity. The arguments for nudity - pro and con - are presented humorously, and the tables are unexpectedly turned.
