StageWorks Ink, the company that brought you Flash Ah-ahhh!!!, Varsity Cheerleader Werewolves From Outer Space, Xanaredu and The Three Amigos Live is producing the Toxic Avenger Musical at the Chapel Theatre this season. Running the last weekend in Aug and the first two weekends in September.
Several of the 5 roles have been precast but two of the roles are open at this time.
Melvin Ferd the Third / The Toxic Avenger ("Toxie")
Gender: Male
Age: 20s–30s (generally 24–35)
Vocal Range: Tenor/Pop Bari-tenor (D4–C6)
Physical/Acting Requirements:
Versatility: Must be able to play a shy, sensitive, awkward nerd (Melvin) who transforms into a "7-foot mutant freak" with superhuman strength and a massive heart.
Comedy/Physicality: Must possess strong physical comedy skills to portray a "bulging" mutant, often with a violent temper.
Chemistry: Strong acting required to build a "toxic love story" relationship with Sarah, the blind librarian.

Gender: Female
Age: 35–60 (often cast 40–55)
Vocal Range: Alto/Mezzo-Soprano (G3–G5)
Physical/Acting Requirements:
Dual Roles: Frequently required to play the corrupt, sex-driven Mayor and double as Toxie’s doting, tough working-class mother (Ma Ferd), sometimes in the same scene.
Characterization: Needs to be highly over-the-top, campy, and able to use sexuality for comedic political gain.
Duet Requirement: Must be able to perform the "memorable and unbelievable" duet where she sings with herself (as Mayor and Ma Ferd)
All roles are paid. Base pay rate plus tips. Rehearsals will begin mid July. Weekday evening rehearsals.
