We're ready and excited for NATIONAL WATER DANCE
Sat April 18, 3:00pm. JOIN US--all across the US
dancers are dancing for our lives--for clean water, for us, for our planet, for all the people and creatures and plants on EARTH! We're dancing to share the beauty of this world, the beauty of water and the beauty of our communities -- especially in these times.
Join us right here at this FB page for the live-stream of the NWD from 50+ dance groups and dancers across the country at 3:00pm CDT. THEN, about 3:20 or so join us for the replay of DanceCircus' performance of the NWD inspired dance "Susceptibility" about erosion along Lake Michigan's shoreline.

JOIN DanceCircus @ National Water Dance Saturday April 18 at 3:00pm CDT for a live streamed event weaving together performers from across the US. Watch the live feed, then watch the entire "Susceptibility' dance.
34 choreographers submitted movements to NWD generating a palette of movement. Each performer/group selects a local water issue as the focus for the dance.
So, back in January, choreographer/director Betty Salamun transformed movements into "Susceptibility," for four dancers and bassist. Originally schedule for Turbulence Project concert March 19-22, the dance explores the dynamic shaping and reshaping of Lake Michigan's shoreline by high water and storms.
For safety this year, many NWD groups are doing 'zoom' groups and solo works. DanceCircus will be performing "Susceptibility" as a group - safely. Following the the live-streaming of National Water Dance, we will post the full version of "Susceptibility" here on FB, about 3:20-ish.

DanceCircus is joining over 40 organizations across the US to show the vital need for water in our lives. NWD explores the importance of freshwater and seawater in communities across the country.

Cancelling Turbulence Project

Dear DanceCircus friends, family, patrons, dancers, flash dancers, ticket holders and everyone in our moving Circle, we hope you are well in these challenging times.

As you know the Turbulence Project – dancers, musicians and performers – are ready to flow onto the stage. However, for the health and well being of our community, we are, instead, flowing to online and alternative ways of sharing these works of ‘change, erosion, environmental legacy and finding community’ with you.

If you ordered tickets online thorough Next Act Theatre, the Box Office will contact you for refunds.

Your support of DanceCircus at this time is deeply appreciated. Or, please consider a donation to MKE Artist Relief Fund at ImagineMKE supporting dancers and other working artists who are deeply feeling the effects of multiple and ongoing cancellations of teaching, performing and bookings due to the current pandemic.

In the short term, look for DanceCircus on Saturday April 18, 2020 at 3:00pm through the National Water Dance LIVE STREAMING event. We’ll give you information for online streaming and (limited) live access to the performance of “Susceptibility” detaining erosion of Lake Michigan’s shoreline.

We hope that in the coming weeks you will answer our call for support and continue your generosity as we re-imagine our performance, educational and community programming in the coming months.
