Join us for a delightful orchestral performance of Le Carnaval des Animaux (The Carnival of the Animals), the beloved and humorous musical suite by Camille Saint-Saëns on Sunday, June 28th, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM. 🎻🎶

This performance will feature guest artists Jinwoo Lee, Peter Thomas, and Eunice Kim. This playful concert will be narrated by Simon Provan, who will guide the audience through each animal-inspired movement with charm and wit.

This performance is perfect for all ages- Especially young children! Kids are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animals and participate by singing and moving along with the music, making for a fun and interactive experience.

Tonight, at 6:00 PM, Villa Terrace will be welcoming author Derrick Harriell for an evening of poetry & craft. 📖🌙

Derrick Harriell is a New York Times bestselling author and an award-winning poet. Tonight, Harriell will give a special reading and conversation about the creative process. He will read from his published collections alongside several UWM graduate poets, who will share selections of their own work.

Following the readings, we'll explore the craft of writing and poetry's role in shaping our understanding of ourselves and the world.

📖 An Evening of Poetry & Craft with Derrick Harriell | Tuesday, June 23rd, 6 PM-7:30 PM
New York Times bestselling author, Derrick Harriell, will be at the villa for a special reading and conversation about the creative process. Admission to this event is free for all guests.

📸 Artist Talk with Kristine Henrichs | Thursday, June 25th, 5:30 PM-7 PM
Photographer Kristine Henrichs will be discussing her work, including her pieces printed on silk, this Thursday. Her work is currently on display at Villa Terrace.

🧘 Yoga at the Terrace | Sunday, June 28th, 9 AM-10 AM
Come enjoy a relaxing morning yoga session at the terrace, led by a local instructor.

Today, Villa Terrace will be hosting Cafe Sopra Mare from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM! Looking for a unique way to celebrate Father's Day? Bring Dad, the whole family, or someone special and spend a relaxing morning enjoying the beauty of Villa Terrace. ☕️

Cafe Sopra Mare features music in the courtyard, and our second collaboration with Crave Cart MKE. Crave Cart MKE is a local company specializing in handcrafted drinks and coffees.

This week’s musician is Louis Cucunato- A local Milwaukee musician specializing in classical guitar pieces and performances. Come enjoy his music while sipping on Crave Cart’s delicious coffee!



Admission to the museum for this event is free until 12:30 PM. Be sure not to miss it!

Our fundraiser gala, Sopra Mare La Sera, will be taking place on Saturday, July 18th, at 5PM. We gather for important funding of Villa Terrace and it's preservation. ✨🌙

Funds raised during this year's gala will support the preservation of Villa Terrace's beauty, art, and cultural programming, while helping us create a more accessible experience for all visitors. Our featured initiative is the restoration of the Villa Terrace tram, reconnecting the historic Villa with its breathtaking lakeside gardens and making this unique experience more accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Through this project, we hope to ensure that the beauty, history, and inspiration of Villa Terrace can be shared with every member of our community for generations to come.

On Thursday, June 25th, Villa Terrace will be welcoming Kristine Hinrichs for an artist talk at 5:30 PM. 📸✨

Kristine Hinrichs is a Milwaukee-based photographer who has been shooting and uploading photos every day to her social media for 15 consecutive years. While her subjects range widely, she focuses primarily on the city, especially before dawn and the beauty of Lake Michigan. She prints her pieces on silk, making them unusual yet unique and interesting for her viewers.

Kristine Hinrichs’ silk printed pieces are currently on display at Villa Terrace. Be sure not to miss her artist talk for more insight on her work as a photographer!

On Tuesday, June 23rd, Villa Terrace will be welcoming author Derrick Harriell for a special reading and conversation on the creative process from 6:00 PM- 7:30 PM. 📖✨

Derrick Harriell is a New York Times bestselling author and UW-Milwaukee’s Interim Director of the Black Student Cultural Center and a professor of English. An acclaimed poet and fiction writer, he is the author of several poetry collections, many of which have earned awards.

Save the date! ✨🌙

Our fundraiser gala, Sopra Mare La Sera, will be taking place on Saturday, July 18th, at 5PM.

Come enjoy an evening of dinner and dancing at the beautiful gardens of Villa Terrace while supporting the museum and making a difference. This year’s funds will go towards restoration efforts to improve access between the terrace and lower gardens, making Villa Terrace more accessible to the community.
