Milwaukee Irish Ceili Dancing Ceili dancing is what folks traditionally do at family & social gatherings in Ireland. This page promotes opportunities to do so in the Milwaukee area.

Ceili dances at CelticMKE are Irish family social dancing at its best; just as you would see, hear, and dance at a typical family social gathering in Ireland. Ceili dancing (pronounced KAYlee) is a traditional Irish group folk dance for social occasions danced in long lines or circles with a caller. It can be done by people of all ages and is beginner-friendly. No partner is necessary, come on you

r own or bring friends. All dances are taught and walked through ahead and called while dancing. The dances only require a few, very easy, basic steps which are taught right at 7:00 (doors open at 6:30). If you’re new, it’s best to come right at the beginning! Live music is provided by a number of Milwaukee’s great Celtic bands, and we rotate between a few callers. Check the schedule to see who will be playing/calling each dance. Dances are hosted by CelticMKE, 1532 N Wauwatosa Ave, Wauwatosa, WI 53213. They are once a month on the second Saturday except for a summer break. Admission at the door is $10 for adults and $5 for students with an ID aged 13-18 and free to those under 12. Parking is available along the street on Lincoln and in public lots in the Village. Please leave the lot behind our building open to those with limited mobility. Whether you’re Irish or not, come join us for a great evening of music and dancing!
