Behind every intentional space is a woman who dared to believe it was needed.

BLK Girl Fest was founded by T’Keyah Bennett, a woman who understands firsthand the importance of creating spaces where Black women can simply be.

Spaces where we don’t have to explain ourselves.
Spaces where we can release the weight we carry.
Spaces where our healing is prioritized.
Spaces where our joy is celebrated.
Spaces where community is not based on competition, but connection.

Too often, Black women are expected to be everything for everyone else while neglecting themselves. BLK Girl Fest was created as a reminder that we are worthy of rest, softness, wellness and being poured into too.

What started as a vision has grown into a movement of creating intentional experiences centered around mental health, healing, creativity and authentic sisterhood.

To our founder, thank you for having the courage to dream, create and build a space where Black women can show up exactly as they are, unapologetically.

This is more than a festival. It is a love letter to Black women.

Meet Jonah Denae:
Milwaukee’s own Jonah Denae is a poet, spoken word artist, and cultural leader using her voice to inspire, affirm, and create real impact.

In 2024, she made history as the first Black woman lyricist to perform original spoken word with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra!

From mentoring 500+ youth to releasing powerful work like “Last Woman Standing,” her artistry is rooted in truth, resilience, and legacy.

This isn’t just talent, this is purpose in motion.

Meet Queen Tender B:
A multidimensional Lyrical Goddess! Known to be wavy on the track and enchant with rap! Words are her weapon and rhythm is her throne. Queen Tender B is the voice you can’t ignore and the Goddess you’ll adore. She doesn’t just write lyrics- she shares stories and channel prophecies wrapped in rhythm! 

This is more than entertainment. It’s Black women expressing themselves boldly, beautifully and unapologetically.

BLK Girl Fest is a space where you can show up unapologetically, flaws, growth, healing journey, confidence, uncertainty, dreams and all.

You don’t need the perfect outfit. You don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t need to shrink yourself to make others comfortable.

This is a space for the woman who is becoming.
The woman who is healing.
The woman who is learning to choose herself.
The woman who is ready to be surrounded by genuine community.

Show up as you. Laugh loudly. Take up space. Rest. Connect. Celebrate the woman you are today while embracing the woman you are becoming.
