Quick history lesson...
In a past world, every Denny’s had its own set of Goth kids. I was part of the 27th St Goths. The Airport Goths were a smaller group and tended to be a little rougher around the edges. Racine Goths were - Racine goths.
But the Highway 100 Goths - that was Jeffy’s Goths. Those kids didn’t just own the dining room from one Grand Slam to another pot of coffee - they also owned the center dance floor at the all ages dance nights at Mad Planet. And in the middle of that group - was the modern day Dance Commandr, himself, Jeffy.
Still carrying the flag for Milwaukee Goth today, Jeffy, xDominionx and their cohorts are the lords of innovative darkness experiences, taking basic dance nights and infusing them with a black sense of humor and fun. Their events consistently put lines around the block (literally) filled with the bleek, solemn, and melancholic spirits of our fair city.
Goth Barge - tastefully named - has been a hit both on land and on water and is a brilliant addition to the Milwaukee nightlight scene. Often imitated, never without eyeliner on point, Goth Barge rules the dance floor and is August BOTM.
