We're back at it in 2023 with a new location, with the same good music. Highway Kind's first showcase of 2023 is featuring artists:
Old Pup
_______________________
Old Pup is a cosmic folk outfit from Milwaukee, WI with surrealistic leanings and a lyrical nod to American poets old and new. The name was inspired by a Walt Whitman line, "I am old and young, of the foolish as much as the wise." The project was created by multi-instrumentalist Will Hansen, who plays pedal steel guitar with Sleepy Gaucho and Cullah, among other bands in and around the city. Old Pup's forthcoming album, Incognito Lounge, releases April 22 via Hear Here Records.

Johanna rose
_________________________
Unconfined by genre or medium, Johanna Rose is an Artist, Musician, and Street Poet. Her music floats like a hummingbird through the spaces between Jazz, Folk, Country, and Punk, drinking from each, but possessed by none. A songwriter and bandleader as well as an accomplished instrumentalist, she tours throughout the year with a wide variety of projects. Her heart lives in Vermont, in the treehouse she built with own hands, her soul is performing in the streets of New Orleans, and her body can be found wherever the wind has blown it, with the dollhouse that has served as her diary and lifelong art project in tow.
