Tooth & Nail Studio and Gallery is very excited to welcome Gosha Ananchev in sharing a film and exhibition on Saturday May 9th at 7pm.

Set in the Utah desert near Moab, “Petrohaunts at Paradox” is a landscape poem that meditates on the ways that fossil fuels have infused into our unconscious and shaped our understandings of time, nature, autonomy, and mobility. Shot entirely on Handycam, the nearly wordless short film takes the viewer through oil & gas fields, a half-dead ghost town, nature tourism hot spots, lithium prospecting sites, and deep time geologic strata. Part tourist gaze road movie, part sun-baked haunted research project.

Photos, maps, and notes from the project will be on display. Two short films by local filmmakers Jordy Brazo and Ben Balcom will support the petroculture-themed program for the evening.

Gosha Ananchev (b. 1990) is a Milwaukee-based multidisciplinary artist with a background in critical human geography. Their work in video, photo, writing, and music addresses the entanglement of nature & culture, the everyday & the cosmic, the body & the mind. Ananchev’s patient, observational style is a common thread throughout their work, shaped by their experience as an immigrant.

May 11, 2026 / 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Open to all skill levels

Function Focus is a one time handbuilding class taught by Reva of where we’ll go into the details making functional pieces out of clay. You’ll start with a chunk of clay to create 1-2 functional pieces that
you could use in your everyday routines. Whether you’re new to building with clay or looking to hone in your approach on a specific form, you’ll leave this class with a better understanding of functional forms in clay.

In this session, we’ll explore a spring favorite – Berry Bowls! At its core, a berry bowl is a mini colander. We’ll primarily utilize coil-building and hole punches to create and underglazes to decorate as we welcome the spring season.

Hey! It’s another exciting summer art opportunity for kids at T&N! Inspired by video games and digital worlds, this hands-on clay camp invites kids to take “build mode” off the screen and into real life. Campers will sculpt blocky characters, tools, creatures, and imaginative structures inspired by their favorite video games. We’ll focus on building, customizing, and problem-solving as kids bring their digital ideas into three-dimensional form. Along the way, students will learn basic hand-building skills like shaping, attaching pieces, and adding surface details. This is a creative, screen-free camp designed especially for kids who love games and building—and are ready to level up their making skills IRL.
