Such a cool experience, getting to walk the building, learn the history, and have a great spooky time. Our guide was amazingly knowledgeable, giving history and stories of the Shaker's 100 plus years. The final leg of the tour, we had a number of odd happenings that definitely made our group wonder if we didn't have a ghostly presence along for the journey. Definitely memorable. 10 out of 10.

Really enjoyed our ghost tour last night with Elizabeth. My skeptic husband bought me tickets for my birthday. I absolutely love paranormal things and my skeptic husband was the one that had a rattling experience in the basement by the buried skeletons. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw something white (compared it to a handkerchief or a piece of paper) sweep slowly down the guy next to him, down his back . And then just disappeared. Me nor our friend saw anything, but damn the air is thick and definitely feels like you are being watched!

Julie, Happy Birthday! We are thrilled that you chose to spend part of your birthday celebration with. us at Shakers in Milwaukee. We frequently hear tales of skeptic partners being the most impacted by unexplained phenomena while on a Ghost Tour and we are glad it impacted your husband as well. Yes, the cellar is certainly alive with energy and now that you have experienced it one time, you will find yourself drawn to return for another adventure with us. We hope to see you soon. Cheers.

By the early 1970s, Carmine Lupertazzi Sr. had already established himself as one of the most influential figures in New York. Among the younger men coming up during that period was Phil Leotardo, a rising soldier whose reputation for discipline, loyalty, and ambition had begun attracting attention throughout the family.

This photograph is believed to capture the moment Carmine officially opened the books for Phil, marking one of the most important milestones of his early career. At the time, few could have predicted the impact Leotardo would eventually have on the organization. What began as a formal induction into the life would ultimately lead to one of the most powerful and feared figures New York had ever produced.

Years later, Phil would become known for his uncompromising views on tradition, respect, and the old ways of doing business. Looking back, many historians of organized crime point to moments like this as the foundation of that mindset. Standing beside Carmine Lupertazzi Sr., Phil was no longer just another young soldier. He was officially part of a legacy that would shape New York for decades to come.

Death in the Afternoon...

For Whom the Bell Tolls...
It Tolls for each of us...

Death awaits us all.
It can strike at any time of day or night, however, i find Death in the Afternoon to be the most inappropriate of all times.
It arrives not with the first blush of a new day, moist and damp and dewy, bending the grassy fields and flowers, but rather in the peak of the glory of each day..
the Afternoon is when each day is at its peak, regardless of the season.
To be cut down towards your finality on Earth, on a sunny day,
seems sadly out of time and place.
The early Evening, as we tumble towards dusk makes sense to mark the end of a day and a life.
In the throes of full-on night also is poetic in its finality of the body and the Human Spirit.
By comparison, the Death in the Afternoon, is defiant and distorts our view of order and method.
Cheers to a life well-lived.

Michael Imperioli’s public image has long been inseparable from Christopher Moltisanti, making candid photos like this feel less like celebrity sightings and more like glimpses into an alternate continuation of The Sopranos itself. Even in ordinary settings, his sharp features, signature expression, and unmistakable aura immediately evoke the character who spent much of the series wrestling with ambition, existential frustration, and the crushing weight of everyday life.

Christopher was often portrayed as someone deeply dissatisfied with the repetitive nature of existence, constantly searching for meaning through crime, Hollywood dreams, addiction, or reinvention, only to repeatedly find himself trapped in cycles he could never fully escape. Seeing Imperioli casually riding the subway humorously mirrors that same energy, as though Christopher somehow survived it all only to end up philosophizing about life’s unbearable monotony between train stops.

What makes the image especially effective is how naturally reality blends with fiction. Fans do not just see an actor on public transportation. They see one of television’s most psychologically restless characters seemingly dropped back into modern urban life, still carrying the same intellectual intensity and low simmering dissatisfaction that made Christopher such a compelling symbol of unrealized potential and internal conflict.
