Tonight I'm shining purple in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜

Overdose deaths continue to rise globally, with more than 100,000 deaths recorded in the past year.

In 2025, there were 387 fatal overdoses in Milwaukee County alone. This is a nearly 18% decrease in fatal overdoses from 2024.

Communities of all sizes and demographics are impacted by overdose, highlighting the need for widespread awareness and prevention efforts.

Join us at Veterans Park tonight from 5 PM - 7:30 PM to remember lives lost, support affected families and people in recovery, and strengthen our efforts to prevent overdose.

She reignited the Milwaukee chapter of Creative Mornings in 2024 and hosts monthly free gatherings for Milwaukee's community. 🫶

Originally born in Milwaukee, Annie Werner worked in a few different parts of the country before eventually returning.

During that time, she attended Creative Mornings in Seattle, at first as part of her role as a recruiter. It quickly became something she looked forward to and truly enjoyed, far beyond her job obligations. 🌟

After returning to Milwaukee and hearing about the call for hosts, Annie knew it was worth applying! She and her best friend, Kelly Winarski, were selected as hosts and have been running CreativeMornings/MKE ever since.

Stay tuned to hear more about how Annie is connecting Milwaukee’s creatives through Creative Mornings, and what she would do if she could shut me down for a Creative Mornings event!
