Come out to Milwaukee County Parks ‘s Doctors Park this evening at 5 PM for a few Sprecher Brewery beers and art from all of the amazing creators at the Art and Hops Night Market Series night market at the traveling beer garden! 🍻🎨

I will be there with nature-inspired wood-burned art and gifts! 🔥

🐢 Turtles are on the move. This time of year, more turtles are crossing roads than during other seasons. Sadly, this results in many devastating traffic collisions.

But you can help!
🟡When you are driving, slow down and remain alert in turtle habitats, such as wetlands.
🛑If you can do so safely, pull over and stop if you see a turtle ahead on the road. Turn on your hazards lights.
🐢If you can do so safely (and it is not a snapping turtle), gently pick up the turtle supporting it’s weight with your hands at the midpoint of the shell
⬅️ Carry the turtle across the road in the direction it was going. Gently set it down just off the road.
🧼 Wash your hands.

Do not pick up a snapping turtle at the midpoint of the shell. They have long necks and an instinct to snap. Help them across using a car mat or another tool. Do not grab their tail.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently designated approximately 1,534,951 acres in six states, including Wisconsin, as critical habitat for the rusty patched bumble bee (Bombus affinis) under the Endangered Species Act of 1973! (https://www.federalregister.gov/d/2026-10846)

Celebrate this major win with me by purchasing a print of my rusty-patched bumble bee pyrography art, which was inspired by the rusty-patched bumble bees that visit the native plant habitat I created around my home.
