Today we're excited to highlight Karen Estrada portraying the role of Autumn in MAYBE WE'LL FLY coming this autumn to MCT! 🍂 Karen is an actor, director, and theater educator who calls Milwaukee home. She was last seen at MCT in SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE CASE OF THE JERSEY LILY.

Karen’s had the pleasure of working as an actor and director at many Wisconsin theaters including First Stage, Skylight Music Theater, Next Act, Renaissance, Third Avenue PlayWorks, Milwaukee Opera Theatre, Marquette University, UWM, Northern Sky and Forward Theater and is a three time alumna of the Disney on Classic tour of Japan and Taiwan.

Today we're highlighting the mastermind behind MAYBE WE'LL FLY, playwright Marie House Kohler! A Milwaukee-based writer, director, producer and playwright, Marie also co-founded Renaissance Theaterworks in 1993! 🎭 Learn more about Marie and her work, and get your tickets to MAYBE WE'LL FLY below! 👇

Marie’s plays have earned nominations for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and The Harold and Mimi Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award & Citations, among others. Her play BOSWELL captured four-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, enjoyed a sold-out Off-Broadway run at 59E59 Theaters (2022), and had a recent run at Next Act (2025). Milwaukee Opera Theatre produced a staged reading of MAYBE WE’LL FLY in January 2026. Her published plays include MIDNIGHT AND MOLL FLANDERS (2024), BOSWELL (2024) and A GIRL OF THE LIMBERLOST (2018). Other produced plays include COUNTING DAYS and THE DIG. Marie served 20 years as Co-Artistic Director and Resident Playwright after co-founding Renaissance Theaterworks. She received her BA at Harvard University and her MA at UWM. Married to actor Brian Mani, the two gratefully share three daughters and eight grandchildren.

In MAYBE WE'LL FLY, each actor will embody a different season inspired by the iconic life of Mary Nohl, using movement and music to take us on a journey through the varied stages of an artist's life. ✨

As the calendar commands, we're kicking things off with Spring! Join us in welcoming Amelia Sajdak—one of the two Young Performers sharing the role of Spring. 🌷

Amelia's recent credits include First Stage's LOVABYE DRAGON (Girl), RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER (Clarice), and ELEPHANT & PIGGIE'S WE ARE IN A PLAY! (Squirelle); FROZEN: THE BROADWAY MUSICAL (Young Elsa) at Wauwatosa West and DISNEY'S ALADDIN JR. (Princess Jasmine) at Longfellow Middle. For FROZEN, she received a Jerry Award for Best Young Performer and performed on the Main Stage at the International Thespian Festival. Amelia also plays violin with MYSO and is an 8th grader at Longfellow Middle.
