Repost from

A new public art space is taking shape at 35th & Vliet on Milwaukee’s Near West Side. 🎨

Art Intersection MKE, founded by Derrick Cainion, features six works of art so far—with more to come—from mostly local artists, plus a few international voices. Even better, the park is being built to give back, integrating green technologies like bioswales, solar panels, and native plant gardens.

The fencing you may have seen in the video is gone—stop by and experience this growing, self-sustaining art park for yourself.

In case you missed it, we had our ribbon-cutting ceremony this past Friday, and now September 26th is officially Art Intersection MKE Day in the City of Milwaukee!

It’s also a special day because it’s the birthday of our founder’s son. We’re celebrated both milestones over the weekend with so much gratitude and excitement. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey.

There’s more to come… Now we’re working to build our Solar Pavilion to become a true Community Resilience Hub.

Special thank you to:

Milwaukee Repost :
DCD was happy to join as they celebrated the opening of the Community Resilience Hub near the intersection of N. 35th and W. Vliet in the Washington Park Neighborhood. This project transforms vacant lots into art-filled, outdoor public gathering spaces that include green infrastructure for stormwater retention.
