I was so honored to be asked to participate in this giveaway and thrilled to hopefully bring some peace to a fellow mother who could use some beauty and tranquility, as represented by the flowers, in her life. So when she’s running around trying to get her kids to just put the dang shoes on, she can look up, take a breath, and keep trucking. INJURY UPDATES! 💪🏽 🤕

THANKS, EVERYONE, FOR YOUR ENCOURAGING WORDS AND SUPPORT WITH MY ROTATOR CUFF! I STARTED PHYSICAL THERAPY YESTERDAY AND I’M HOPING I DON’T HAVE TO GO THE ROUTE OF SURGERY. (ICYMI, I FELL OVER A DOGGY GATE 🤦🏻‍♀️)

I’M TAKING THINGS A LOT SLOWER - I CANCELED ALL MY SHOWS AND WORKSHOPS THE NEXT SIX MONTHS AND I’M NOT TAKING ADDITIONAL BOUQUETS FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, ETC.

I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO HEALING UP AND MAKING MORE ART. IVE ALSO HAD SOME UNIQUE DONATION REQUESTS AND I’M REALLY EXCITED FOR MY ART TO BE A PART OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE.

WHILE BUILDING EXPOSURE TO MY ART LAST YEAR, I CONSIDERABLY NEGLECTED MY PHYSICAL (AND FINANCIAL) HEALTH, AND NOW THE SPOTLIGHT IS ON BOTH OF THESE AREAS. I’M THRILLED TO BE GETTING BACK TO BASICS AND AM SO GRATEFUL FOR MY PERSONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

It's World Hippo Day!

This hippo is made from pressed flowers, specifically purple tulips, daisies, and hydrangea. I know they're very dangerous, but they're so cuuute.

Did you know there was an ancient Egyptian hippo goddess named Tawaret? She was the household deity and protector of childbirth and fertility. Pretty neat!

Cozy nights in with flowers and kitty 🌺

Finishing up a number of bouquets from August-September (stand by, brides!).

Looking forward to slowing down this year. 2023 was a whirlwind with my art, markets, and wedding bouquets. It has been thrilling, and also I recognize how out of sync I’ve been with my body.

Currently I’m still making art, but at a pace that honors my body. I was shocked to learn that sitting hunched at a computer all day for my work followed by hunched over flowers at night might not be great for my posture, flexibility, etc. 🤣 Tack on sacrificing weekends away from family and time not spent on preparing nourishing food, I’m learning that when you say yes to one thing you’re saying no to another.

2023 was an incredible lesson in hard, hard work and juggling, all leading to this year where I can employ the lessons of prioritization and very intentional use of my time. I also certainly have a different relationship with earning money and spending money.

This time away from active content creation has been spent nursing the burnout and reflecting on “the point.” I mourned the loss of several family and friends, and there’s nothing like death to bring you to a point of reflection.

Thank you all for making this possible, thank you for sticking with me, thank you for looking forward to the future of my art with me! I love you all and can’t wait for the year ahead.
