Now that Opening Night nerves have come and gone, we wanted to spotlight the talented directors behind SRCT's production of Marc Camoletti's outrageously funny "Don't Dress For Dinner. "

Dianna Hendrick

An Air Force veteran, Dianna has assumed many roles since she joined the SRCT family. From stage manager and set dresser to production coordinator and Box Office guru, she loves being a part of all things theatre. She last stepped on the stage as an actor in our 2023 production of "Mousetrap" and can't wait to do it again. When she's not volunteering, she enjoys snuggling with her cats, doing puzzles, and making anything crafty. She is grateful for the support of her husband, amazing daughters, family, and friends.

Jonathan McIntosh

Jonathan has been a part of SRCT since 2018 when he auditioned for a role in "Murder in Green Meadows." Since then, he spends his time jumping from stage to screen and back again having appeared in shows like "NCIS: New Orleans" and films "Ray" and "Zombeez." He first directed a virtual production of "A Christmas Carol" back in 2020 for the theatre and also recently directed the pilot episode of a locally shot series, "Kookville" now streaming on Prime Video. He is thankful for the support of his family, friends, and grateful they all put up with his "Dad Jokes."

This is the third collaboration for Dianna and Jonathan, having previously worked together on "Deathtrap" and "Weekend Comedy." We think you'll agree they make a great team; come check out their latest show now on stage through Sunday, June 7th.

Tickets are still available at the link in the comments. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

🚨🚨It's OPENING NIGHT for "Don't Dress For Dinner" at SRCT!!!!🚨🚨

Written by Marc Camoletti and adapted by Robin Hawdon, we think audiences are going to love this hilarious production set in the French countryside.

Our final cast spotlight shines on:

Adam Willis-Meche as Robert

"The first show I saw was South Pacific when I was about 8. It did not inspire me to be on-stage.

My first role on stage was Samuel Ratchet in Murder on the Orient Express.

If I had the opportunity for a role on Broadway, I would love Toulouse-Lautrec in Moulin Rouge. His is such a fun and extravagant role.

My favorite part is getting to meet so many people and learn from them... actors, directors, light/sound crew. I really enjoy rehearsals. It's fun and exciting to watch characters develop. The people are the greatest."

Come join Adam and the rest of our fantastic cast as they take the stage starting tonight through June 7th. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the link in the comments below. ⬇️⬇️

Our next Spotlight falls on:

Carla Rhodes as Jacqueline

The first play I saw was Charlie & the Chocolate Factory- my sister was in it in the 5th grade.

My first "real" role was the White Queen & the ensemble of Alice in Wonderland in my freshmen year in college. I thought I could work backstage but everyone was assigned roles to my horror. I was pretty shy. And I had to sing a song! I wasn’t very happy about it at first but I slowly gained a love of the process. After that I was hooked!

My dream role is Miranda in The Devil Wears Prada. Love that show!

My favorite part of theater is …everything! I love creating a character, rehearsing, decorating the set and directing. I never get bored- there’s always something to do. And the people you meet there are the best bonus!

Tickets are still available for tomorrow night's opening performance. Follow the link in the comments to get yours before they're gone. ⬇️⬇️

Our next Spotlight on the cast of "Don't Dress For Dinner" shines on one of the show's directors:

Jonathan McIntosh as Bernard

I'm seriously dating myself, but, the very first play I remember seeing was "Peter Pan" starring Sandy Duncan. I clearly remember seeing her soar over the audience and being mesmerized by it all. But it wasn't until I accompanied my mother on an audition for "Brighton Beach Memoirs" that the acting bug bit me. I was eleven and the director let me do a cold read from the script with my mom. I was hooked.

My first play in community theatre happened when I was twelve. I was cast as the Narrator for a play called, ahem..."The Christmas Cookie Sprinkle Snitcher." We have to start somewhere, right!?

There have been so many wonderful, memorable roles, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I'd love to play Lumiere or the Beast in "Beauty & the Beast." More recently though, I've had my eye on something written by Steve Martin.

My theatre family means the world to me! It's the creativity that comes with each production SRCT does. Whether it's working with old friends or new ones, we collectively just keep pushing each other, always hoping that each new show truly entertains the audience, and the memories we make doing it.

Join Jonathan and the rest of this talented cast as they bring you a hilarious story of mistaken identities and how far they go to get what they want. The show opens tomorrow, Thursday, May 28th and tickets are still available at the link in the comments. ⬇️⬇️

Our next cast member in Don't Dress For Dinner...say hello to...

Holli Hensley as Suzette.

The first play I saw (that I wasn't involved in), was "The King and I" when I was 5. My father was really into theater and introduced me, at a fairly young age, to it. That was not the one that inspired me to take to the stage

My first role in the theater was when I was 3. My father directed musicals for Southwest High School and would cast my sister and I in the chorus. It was "Annie Get Your Gun."

Something Rotten! That musical is full of fun and whimsy. Portia is my dream role. If anything, just so I could sing "I Love the Way." Though, being cast in the chorus would also be a dream for all the musical numbers and choreography.

Meeting new people, making new friends, new experiences. It's never the same with each new thing. From different sizes of cast to different directors. And it isn't just acting, it's also behind the scenes work. I've had such a change in my life that I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Come join Holli and the rest of the cast for Dinner beginning this Thursday, may 28th through Sunday, June 7th. Tickets are still available at the link below in the comments. ⬇️

Continuing with our cast introductions for "Don't Dress For Dinner" we'd like you to meet someone who is brand new to the SRCT stage.

Tara Grant as Suzanne.

~ What was the first play you ever saw in a theatre and did that experience inspire you to get on stage yourself?

When I was 5, Cats came to town, so my mom took me because we’re both cat people. I was already taking tap and ballet classes. Most of it went over my head, but I still left inspired.

~ What was your first role in a theatre production?

After a few dance recitals, I auditioned for a children’s community theater production of Grease when I was 14 and landed the role of Rizzo.

~ If you could be in any Broadway show which one would it be and why?

None, honestly. I’m not drawn to big cities, big crowds, or large productions. I’d rather work on indie plays or short films for smaller, niche audiences.

~ What is your favorite part of participating in community theatre?

Community theater gives me a creative outlet and a way to balance hard work with meaningful leisure time. I’m grateful to spend that time with kind, supportive, and creative people.

We open this coming Thursday, May 28th!!!

Come out and support Tara and all the other fabulous actors ready to entertain you at Santa Rosa County's only Community Theatre!

Tickets are available to purchase through the link in the comments below. ⬇️

As "Don't Dress For Dinner" prepares to invite audiences to dinner this Thursday night we wanted to pause and introduce you to the cast.

Wyatt Davis as George

What was your first theatre experience?

The first play I saw in a theater was Grease all the way back as part of a kindergarten field trip (yeah, don’t ask me why they thought Grease would somehow be appropriate for kindergartners), and while it was exciting, it was not where the love for theatre first came about.

What was your first role?

My first ever role in a theatre production was as Ebeneezer Humbug, a parody of Dickens’ Ebeneezer Scrooge in a melodrama called The Plight Before Christmas.

What would be your dream role?

My dream role on Broadway would be as the principal D’ysquith actor in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, seeing as how that role requires playing nine different kooky characters back to back.

What does community theatre mean to you?

My favorite part of community theatre is getting to see and participate in the wide variety of shows over the course of single season. You never quite know what you’re gonna get doing community theatre, and it’s a great way to broaden out and try out different shows and experiences you ordinarily wouldn’t encounter anywhere else.

Come see Wyatt and the rest of the cast of "Don't Dress For Dinner." Tickets are still available. Link in the comments.

Anthony Mowad is excited to be directing “The Other Place” written by Sharr White for Santa Rosa Community Theatre. “The Other Place” is a Broadway produced psychological drama that plunges audiences into the troubled mind of Juliana Smithton, a brilliant neurologist facing a life altering event. This play offers excellent and challenging opportunities for a small cast of 2 women and 2 men. Especially prominent is the role of Juliana, who is ever present on stage during the entire production and drives the narrative of the work.

Audition dates are Monday, June 1st and Tuesday, June 2nd at 6:30pm at Santa Rosa Community Theatre, located at 5410
Dogwood Drive in Milton, FL. Performances will be from July 16th to the 26th.
Auditions will consist of cold reading from the script. Feel free to message the theatre with any questions.

Character Descriptions:
Juliana: Woman in her early 50s. Juliana is a neuroscientist detailing to the audience her recent experiences concerning her work, her marriage and her relationship with her daughter. She is eminently confident, witty, and stoic; however as the play progresses, the audience learns that there may be issues she isn’t facing that call into doubt the veracity of the story she is telling.

Ian: Man in his early 50s. Ian is an oncologist and married to Juliana. He is a thoughtful and caring husband, but he is also not entirely aware of Juliana’s true nature. He is an intellectual with a gentle wit.

The Woman: Multirole character. The actress cast in the role of The Woman will take on 3 different characters within the play. Each has a different and specific relationship with Juliana.

The Man: Multirole character. The actor cast in the role of The Man will take on 3 different characters within the play. Each has a different and specific relationship with Juliana.

We are very excited to bring this important and emotional drama to the stage. We are sure audiences will be deeply moved by the show. We hope to see you at auditions!
