Bay Area Showcase Chorus is a vibrant, award winning chorus & chapter of SingUnited International We rehearse in person on Thursdays from 7:30-10 p.m.

BASC invites women of all ages, backgrounds, and singing experience to come learn a variety of music in a friendly and inclusive community. in Milpitas, California, and also broadcast our rehearsals on Zoom. Visitors are always welcome! All guests and members attending in person are required to be fully vaccinated + one booster. The Bay Area Showcase Chorus has launched a unique 7-week community partnership with Inclusive World, an organization dedicated to equipping teens and adults with developmental disabilities with essential life, business, and executive functioning skills.

Running weekly through October 22nd at Mount Olive Ministries in Milpitas, the collaborative vocal clinic brings together chorus members, family, and student participants. The multi-week workshop culminates in a triumphant live performance at the Inclusive World Annual Gala on October 23rd at the India Community Center, themed "Building Pathways Together."

Saturday, September 12, the Bay Area Showcase Chorus performed at two events - Silicon Valley Fall Fest in Cupertino and at the Mt Mountain View Art & W**e Festival. The weather was great, we sang well, and everyone had a great time.

On August 29, the Bay Area Showcase chorus sang at the Sanborn Classical Music Gathering. This first annual event was created as a "labor of love" by a local club of classical music friends to celebrate local classical, folk, and global music traditions. The group’s goals are to promote accessibility, support local artists, celebrate global traditions, and connect the community with nature. Our chorus sang in a beautiful park with Laura and Pam directing.

What a wonderful event last Thursday (June 25) with performances from Bay Area Showcase Chorus, The Peninsulaires, and several quartets. The event was capped when singers from our Vocal Clinic joined BASC and The Peninsulaires, for a performance of "Dream a Little Dream of Me" directed by Pam and Nick. To make it even better, we ended the night with an Ice Cream Social.

The Vocal Clinic hosted jointly by The Peninsulaires and BASC is a lot of fun. Between 15 and 20 guests have been showing up to learn singing essentials and the barbershop style of music. It has been such a pleasure to meet the diverse group of people interested in singing that have been showing up each week. We have a finale on June 25 at 8pm at the Mt. Olive Ministries (1989 Calaveras Boulevard Milpitas, CA 95035). Come join us and hear The Peninsulaires, BASC, and all our new singers take the stage.

Last Thursday, we held our annual end-of-year celebration to look back on the accomplishments of all our wonderful teams and committees that make BASC possible! We had a blast sharing food, reviewing our contest set, and singing together with our chorus family. We even awarded a WOOPS (Woman Out Of Perfect Step) award! 😉🏆

In addition to the festivities, we had 17 (!!!) amazing humans nominated for the Sweet Adeline of the Year (SAY) award. We are thrilled to announce this year’s winner: Barbara Day Zinicola 🎉

Last week, May 14 – May 16, BASC attended the 2026 Region Convention in Sparks, CA. On Friday, Verve started the quartet competition as mic tests. During the quartet competition, four BASC quartets including AllSorts, OverEasy, PDQ, and Reverie competed. All five quartets gave magnificent performances.

Saturday was the chorus competition. BASC competed seventh with 40 of us on stage. It was a great stage and we sang fabulously. We received first place in the AA division and third place overall. It was a wonderful debut for our director Elaine.

The first-place chorus award was won by DVC who received the highest score ever in region 12 with a 701. BASC is so proud of DVC.
