Bay Area Showcase Chorus Bay Area Showcase Chorus is a vibrant, award winning chorus & chapter of Sweet Adelines International We rehearse in person on Thursdays from 7:30-10 p.m.

BASC invites women of all ages, backgrounds, and singing experience to come learn a variety of music in a friendly and inclusive community. in Milpitas, California, and also broadcast our rehearsals on Zoom. Visitors are always welcome! All guests and members attending in person are required to be fully vaccinated + one booster. Last Thursday, we held our annual end-of-year celebration to look back on the accomplishments of all our wonderful teams and committees that make BASC possible! We had a blast sharing food, reviewing our contest set, and singing together with our chorus family. We even awarded a WOOPS (Woman Out Of Perfect Step) award! 😉🏆

In addition to the festivities, we had 17 (!!!) amazing humans nominated for the Sweet Adeline of the Year (SAY) award. We are thrilled to announce this year’s winner: Barbara Day Zinicola 🎉

Last week, May 14 – May 16, BASC attended the 2026 Region Convention in Sparks, CA. On Friday, Verve started the quartet competition as mic tests. During the quartet competition, four BASC quartets including AllSorts, OverEasy, PDQ, and Reverie competed. All five quartets gave magnificent performances.

Saturday was the chorus competition. BASC competed seventh with 40 of us on stage. It was a great stage and we sang fabulously. We received first place in the AA division and third place overall. It was a wonderful debut for our director Elaine.

The first-place chorus award was won by DVC who received the highest score ever in region 12 with a 701. BASC is so proud of DVC.

Bay Area Showcase chorus is thrilled to announce that we are joining forces with the Peninsulaires chorus for a free, five-week vocal clinic starting May 28th. We are employing a "one program, two locations" model where participants can attend either Peninsularies or BASC rehearsals on Thursday nights. It is open to all.

This year’s program is using a beautiful arrangement of "Dream A Little Dream of Me." We will have a combined concert on June 25th at the Mt. Olive site. Please come and join us.

Last Saturday, April 11, Bay Area Showcase Chorus sponsored a Quartet Stage Day; the first time since Covid. Stage Day gives our quartets a “competition” experience where they can practice their performance including their walk-on, singing two songs, and walk-off, not just once but three times! In addition, the coaches give each quartet immediate feedback on how they can improve. It was really amazing to see how much our quartets improved with each run through.

A special thanks goes to Jan and Dana Gervais who traveled from Petaluma to be our expression and visual communications coaches. And praise to our very own Elaine who was the sound judge.
