Mr. Smalls Presents: DRAUVE
~ Victoria and Stephen’s paths first merged in Pittsburgh when their former projects shared a bill at The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls. They connected instantly over shared influences, ambition, and struggles. Soon after meeting, they formed Drauve and released the dreamy and melancholic Haunted in 2019—an early glimpse at their one-two punch of gauzy textures and hard-hitting emotional intensity. Riding on a shared high of ambition, they moved to Los Angeles in 2020 where they’re still based today. Since the cross-country move, Drauve’s music has become more aggressive, a direct response to an increasingly apathetic world. With their latest EP, Drauve fights back against monotonous despair, what they call the Abyss. Victoria reckons with grief and existential crises in a world where it’s much easier to go numb. Using towering walls of distortion as an attack method, each song is like a soft-focus panic attack cloaked in a shoegazy haze. The lead single—the project’s title track—dropped July 29, with the full project releasing October 16, 2026. ~
