The Millsboro Haunted Mansion

The Millsboro Haunted Mansion We've been DYING to meet you! Don't forget your death certificate, if you decide to join us! Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Millsboro Haunted Mansion.

I am your host... your GHOST host! I first recruited Madame Leota to our home Millsboro, Delaware in 2020, during the peak of the pandemic, as a creative outlet that would hopefully bring a sense of excitement and wonder to our community. Madame Leota succeeded in manifesting countless ghosts and ghoulies all over our home. Since 2020, Madame Leota has returned each year, always bringing new cadav

erous creeps with her. The Millsboro Haunted Mansion is a free, kid-friendly, after-dark, walk-up display. There are mild frights and jump scares, but nothing that wouldn't be found at a Disney park. If you have mobility concerns, please bring a walker, or something to hold on to in case one of our spirited residents should startle you. We are wheelchair accessible, and all guest walkways are on our concrete driveway. Please park in one of the nearby common parking areas (NOT a neighbor's driveway, please!) and walk up to the home to make sure you don't miss a single spook. Please note that our spirits are frightfully sensitive to rain and high winds, and will NOT materialize if poor weather is in the forecast!

🔮🕯 A most unfortunate reminder...

The Millsboro Haunted Mansion is not able to return from Regions Beyond for the 2026 haunting season.

Our caretaker underwent a rather substantial knee surgery late last year and, owing to the nature of his earthly occupation, has spent the past several months on sick leave. While he has recovered and returned to work, the unfortunate truth remains: resurrecting the Mansion for another season requires a frightening amount of time, effort, and dedication.

From preparing the grounds and summoning our happy haunts, to setting everything up night after night, and finally dismantling the whole spectacle once Halloween has passed, the Mansion demands quite a bit from its caretaker. Now that he has returned to mortal matters, he simply won’t have time to devote to our silly little spooks in 2026.

Although your cadaverous pallor may betray an aura of foreboding…

FEAR NOT!

The ghosts have merely gone on vacation.

Our happy haunts will return in 2027, when Madame Leota resumes nightly seances, and we once again welcome you back to our swinging wake.

Until then…

Beware of hitchhiking ghosts. đź‘»

We hope our tribute to Disney’s Haunted Mansion brings joy to people, and makes Disney feel a little bit closer to home! If you follow this page, chances are good that you love Disney, and happen to live in or near Southern Delaware!

Did you know there is a public work of art directly tied to Disney Imagineering right in Lewes, Delaware???

Raymond Kinman is the woodcarver who has carved numerous statues and attraction/restaurant signs for Disneyland in California. Present carvings at Disneyland and California Adventure include Big Al and Traveler Mickey at California Adventure, as well as the signs for Adventureland Treehouse, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Rancho del Zocalo restaurant at Disneyland! Carvings that have been removed over the years include signs for the Indiana Jones Outpost store, the Country Bear Playhouse, and various woodwork for the Pinocchio Village Haus restaurant (now the Red Rose).

While Ray is primarily known for his contributions for Disney Imagineering, Ray does other commissions.

One commission that Ray and his team carved a couple years ago is the Honduras Mahogany statue of St. Peter on the front of the wooden portico of Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, on 2nd Street in downtown Lewes!

Next time you are in Lewes, make sure to check out this stunning carving, with the insider knowledge that it it is directly connected to Disneyland and Disney Imagineering! Better yet, see if you can find Ray’s signature carved into St. Peter’s cloak!

Now that he has recovered enough from his knee surgery to travel a bit, your mortal caretakers are visiting the original Haunted Mansion in Disneyland for the very first time!

Even better, we were here the day that Madame Leota herself, Imagineer Leota Toombs (now in Regions Beyond), and her daughter, Imagineer Kim Irvine, had a window dedicated in their honor on Main Street USA!

🔮 🕯️ IMPORTANT UPDATE for 2026! 🕯️🔮

The Millsboro Haunted Mansion will be taking a break for the 2026 season.

Our caretaker had a major knee surgery in late December, and has been on sick leave from work for the past few months due to the nature of his job.

As you can imagine, the Millsboro Haunted Mansion requires a LOT of effort. It also requires considerable time off work to get everything setup for the season, to setup each night, and to break down after Halloween. Once our caretaker is able to return to work, he won’t have the time off to dedicate to our silly spooks for 2026.

Your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, but fear not! Our happy haunts will return in 2027!

Until then, beware of hitchhiking ghosts!
