Great first day at the Debbie Underberg Mueller stilllife workshop today in Centerville, TN at the Rachael McCampbell Artist Studio. Debbie is an incredible instructor and broke down painting stilllifes in easy to follow steps. I learned so much while painting my first piece!

Two of my paintings varnished and framed over the weekend! My favorite is Winter Glow- the snow scene which is probably the best snow scene I’ve painted so far! The frame is also gorgeous- very thick, nice dark brown wood. Hiking in My Dreams is the other, inspired as I painted in my studio staring at a distant mountain in western NC. Both will be hung Asheville Gallery of Art at the end of April! Which one do you like the best?

Started this oil on panel today in my home studio. I like where its going! Happy to paint from my heart and soul to escape the chaos on the world stage!

I’m so excited to receive the news that I’ve been juried in to the Brevard Plein Air festival in September! Looking forward to painting in the Blue Ridge mountains!

We spent 3 days in Cades Cove, TN this week hiking and searching for wildlife. I was able to paint John Olivers cabin in the park today and was visited by some deer! My hubbie napped in the sunshine! What a great day in December with springtime weather!

Finally finished these two paintings! Dancing in the Light is 12x12 and Brighter Days Ahead, 16x20. The first is heading to The Art Place Gallery for the member show for Art League of Henderson County. Brighter Days Ahead will be hung in the new show, Serenity in Color Asheville Gallery of Art the 2nd of January!
