Progress on my Sparkle Mystery quilt...

I discovered that the unfortunate part of picking up a quilt started a few years ago is that my 1/4" seam allowance has improved in consistency. 🎉 But why is that unfortunate, you might ask? My pieces don't line up properly now. 😂 I'm making it work anyways, and it will be gorgeous when it's all finished!!

You can see from my picture that I've lost some points and if you look closely at the center you can see that some of my rows don't line up. ⭐ I fairly recently added some painters tape to my machine to help hone my seam allowance, which I have always struggled with!

I have had to learn to let go of my perfectionism when piecing and just enjoy the process. It's during the quilting process that I let that perfectionism come out more to ensure the whole quilt is enhanced and comes together with beauty.

Happy sewing everyone! 🪡 🧵 And for those local folks, keep cool! It's hot out there!!

Working on finishing up some UFOs that have been sitting laid out in my sewing room for a few years! 🫣 This one is the Sparkle mystery back from working at Bear Creek Quilting Company.

I'm determined to finish it and Crossroads from even longer ago this summer. I am really enjoying the Ultimate Flying Geese tool. It makes those little flying geese so slick to do!

Do you have a favorite tool that you can't do without?

When you show your daughter some fabric you picked up to make her a Horse Camping Blanket, and she asks what you’re doing after the Strawberry Festival Parade the next day…you don’t even hesitate to say “nothing, what did you have in mind?”! And then barely suppress the excitement when she says, “I thought we could work on it together after the parade.” Heck yeah!! Happy dance!! I have waited years for one of my four daughters to show an interest in quilting. I have had so much fun this morning! We are doing the great Disappearing Nine Patch pattern and throwing in some horse blocks! It will look so awesome! Even more so because it was a joint project with my youngest daughter!!

Who else has had to wait for someone they love to share in a hobby? Tell us about it! ❤️❤️

Jo just finished up a quilt, so it is my turn for some Longarm Quilting therapy! One day I dream of having more days than just the weekend to play with Jo, but for now this is my life. And I am thankful for God’s provision! Thank you to each one of you for coming along this journey with us! ❤️ (Yes, I had to concede to the “old lady” reading glasses! 😂)

No finished quilts to show for my day today because these two ruffians decided it was such a nice day they should roll in some 💩. On the plus side they are nice and fresh smelling now if still a bit damp.

No piecing or quilting involved in this adventure, just Princess Peach on the right and old man Duke on the left.

Check out this gorgeous quilt on the longarm today. Decided to do a quick row before bed. 😂 It's looking lovely so far. I'm going in to "my regular job" a few hours early tomorrow, but I might still get most of it finished tomorrow. 🤞🏼

Playing with a "cheater" quilt today that I will likely donate unless a family member claims it. 😂

We will be back to some big customer quilts tomorrow and probably into the weekend. One is about 110x120. 🤯 Amazing!!

This top is a whole cloth so no piecing involved.
