Anand, we absolutely adore you!

Basement Beats is genuinely lucky to have someone as gifted, wholehearted, and joyfully unstoppable as you.

From the moment we met you, it was obvious you belonged on stage. a fantastic singer, guitarist, left-handed opening batsman, and one of the rare humans who can remember an entire set list without ever needing a prompt.

Tell Anand a song is difficult, and he’ll want to perform it. Tell him it’s impossible, and he’ll probably add a guitar solo just to prove a point.

What we treasure most, though, is how effortlessly he connects with people. Whether they’re 8 or 80, Anand has them smiling, laughing, and feeling like they’ve known him forever.

Thank you for the music, the friendship, and the endless enthusiasm you bring to every gathering.

May 30th - "Journey of Love"
An evening we will remember for a long, long time.

This show was special in ways that are hard to put into words, but here’s what made it unforgettable:

- We blended poetry and music for the very first time, creating a seamless emotional narrative throughout the night
- A powerful 28‑song setlist, curated to reflect the 7 stages of love
- Nidhi Thakur’s poetry was absolutely on point - soulful, moving, and beautifully woven into the experience
- Our largest audience yet, and still the room felt warm, intimate, and Cozy
- Our biggest musician lineup so far, with addition of the flute
- And a truly special moment , a 14‑year‑old violinist who brought pure magic to the stage

We’re deeply grateful to all the artists, and to our incredible audience who made this night so special

The boy we all love!!!

And one who wins hearts with his saxophone.

At just 14 years old, Vinayan Chellappa-Ives is already making his mark across some of the most respected music venues in the Northeast. A 9th-grade Performing Arts–Music student at Bergen County Academies, Vinayan is a gifted multi-instrumentalist who plays not one, not two, but four instruments saxophone, piano, clarinet, and guitar.

Many in the Basement Beats community will remember Vinayan's standout performance over a year ago. Since then, he has continued to flourish as a performer, composer, and arranger, collaborating with musicians of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Whether captivating audiences with the rich, soulful sound of his saxophone or creating music behind the scenes, Vinayan brings passion, creativity, and a genuine love for the art form to everything he does.

A member of Juilliard's prestigious Music Advancement Program (MAP), Jazz House Kids' Dynasty Band, and the Manollasini Ensembles, Vinayan has performed at celebrated venues including Merkin Hall, Dizzy's Club at Lincoln Center, Juilliard, Rutgers University, Montclair State University, and several local jazz clubs. His repertoire spans classical, jazz, and contemporary music, showcasing both technical excellence and remarkable versatility.

With great command over his craft he keeps the audience spellbound by his magic..Bringing ingenuity in every song and raising the level for and beyond. His love for music shows by the happiness you see on his face when the singer/musicians executes what he envisions and you can tell by his expressions - when they miss it too!

Spotlighting a gem from our May 30 show!!!!!

The true power of music reveals itself when the lyrics are felt, the melody is heard, and the artist pours emotion into every note. That's exactly what happened when Rajdeep, Prabhu, Chet, and Anirudh took the stage with Tadap Tadap Ke.

Rajdeep and Prabhu were simply spectacular, delivering the song with powerful vocals that captured every ounce of its pain and passion. Chet played a masterstroke on the keys, bringing the perfect touch of softness and sensitivity that allowed the emotions to breathe. And then came Anirudh's violin, each note reaching straight to the heart, stirring feelings that words alone could never express.

Together, they created something truly special. A performance so moving and so beautifully crafted that it earned a spontaneous standing ovation from the audience.

Moments like these remind us why live music is magical.

We are lucky to have found you Pattanaik- we have a special place in our heart for you and he has a special place and view to us- an angle no one else gets to see us from - He does not even get to run to as many bathroom breaks as the rest of us- He is so talented musically- but also an IITain, IIML- Chief Data and AI officer - so much so that you can only find him on LinkedIn 🙈
