What you she enjoys most about Revive Studio & Couture Dance Alliance: The training at Revive studio places so much emphasis on the history and culture of the dance and its fundamental movements, on technique, and on musicality and music theory. It’s hard to find holistic instruction like that outside of congress-style workshops. I knew after the first class that this was the place for me to truly deepen my understanding of Latin dance.

Background: Born in San Francisco and raised in South San Francisco, I am Salvadoran-American.

Dancing Experience: I have been dancing since February 2019.

For the past three years, I’ve immersed myself in the world of dance, and for the last two years, I’ve proudly called Revive Studio my home. As a member of the CDA performance team for a year, I’ve had the privilege of creating unforgettable memories with an incredible community of dancers and alumni.

Revive Studio has truly transformed my dance journey. If you’re looking for a clear fundamentals curriculum, an introduction to salsa rhythms and musicality, and partner work that emphasizes accountability, I can’t recommend it enough. Under the guidance of Luis Aguilar, I’ve gained a holistic understanding of the call-and-response between music and movement. This has empowered me to express myself freely, even during social dances when my partner lets go.
