Artistic Director Jaco Wong leads violinist virtuoso Kate Vo and the Mill Valley Philharmonic through the thrilling crescendo of Samuel Barber's "Violin Concerto, Op. 14." Our Spring 2026 concert's theme was Circles of Belonging, and we celebrated all the different ways community grows out of shared joy and camaraderie.

Kate Vo is a 16-year-old violinist from Palo Alto, CA. She has been playing violin since the age of 4.

Kate has won numerous competitions, including the 2025-26 Khuner Young Artist Concerto Competition.

She was also awarded second prize in the 2026 Nova Vista Symphony Mary Jane Beck Young Artist Concerto Competition and was named a winner of the 2025 YoungArts National Arts Competition.

Kate is co-founder and co-president of Harmony Ensemble, a student-led non-profit chamber music corporation dedicated to sharing valuable chamber music opportunities with young musicians throughout the Bay Area. She also serves as Co-Regional Director of the Palo Alto region of the Back to Bach Project.

Mill Valley Philharmonic, Marin's premier community orchestra, presents its final concert set of the season, Circles of Belonging, which celebrates the role that music plays in connecting us to our inner selves, to those we love, and to the broader community we are part of.

The program includes Brahms Academic Overture, Elgar's beloved Enigma Variations, and 16-year-old virtuoso Kate Vo performing Barber's Violin Concerto op. 14—all conducted by our new Artistic Director, Jaco Wong.
