Hello Friends of The Mile Away!

Big changes are coming to The Mile Away as we prepare to begin construction for Mile Away School! We're making room for the crews to get to work, while doing everything we can to preserve the charm, character, and history that make this property so special.

As we prepare for this next chapter, we have some beautiful pieces that won't be needed for the school, and we'd love to offer them to our Mile Away community first!

Our first piece is this gorgeous, oversized French Provincial-style hutch that has been a focal point at the entrance to our event tent for many years.

With its ornate floral detailing, scalloped trim, glass display doors, and antiqued ivory finish, it's a real statement piece!
Approximately 100" wide × 80" tall.
Asking $1,000 or best offer.

We had to showcase what the hutch piece was the highlight for…which was the cakes!!! Maybe you recognize one!

There is so much behind the scenes, and we just wanted to give the HIPPO a shout out for running our advertisement on Oktoberfest: A Family Fall Festival, for four weeks in their newspaper. Check out the beautiful layout they offered with a map of NH with location and all. Thank you all for joining us at Oktoberfest! Our fall family festival was a smash hit!

🍺 We welcomed nearly 200 guests of all ages to the Mile Away for delicious food from American BBQ Company, hot coffee from Union Coffee, with beautiful gardens manicured by Brewer Landscaping.

🐐 Children and adults enjoyed making friends with 3-week-old kids (goats) and their mama. Families walked the trails reading our story walk, and couples danced to the music.

🍂 We send a special shout out to Courtney Roycroft, Natura Realms, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, and C&S Wholesale Grocers for their sponsorships for the event. Without our sponsors’ support this event would not be possible!

🍎 All proceeds will support the school. We are so grateful for everyone who showed up to enjoy this special day with us and support the creation of MAPS!

Quick Oktoberfest heads-up for Sunday! 🍺🥨🍂

The Mile Away will be cash only during Oktoberfest, we will have an ATM on site! Food, German b**r, bar drinks, and purchases at the event will all be cash.

Already bought your tickets online?

You’re all set! Just bring your ticket/QR code and some cash for everything you’ll want once you’re here.

Gates open at 12:30 PM and we can’t wait to see everyone!

48 HOURS! 🍂🥨🍺

Things are getting very real around The Mile Away today. The decor is going up, the gardens are getting their finishing touches, food prep is beginning, the bar is getting stocked, auction items are coming together, and we’re getting ready to fill this place with people on Sunday.

This is one of our favorite parts of putting on Oktoberfest. After months of planning, suddenly it all starts coming together.
If you haven’t made your Sunday plans yet, come spend the afternoon with us. Eat some really good homemade German food, grab a stein, listen to the polka band, wander the gardens, play some games, bring the kids, and enjoy fall at The Mile Away.
