🎷 Tina Fabrique is coming to Jazz’n Downtown!

A powerhouse actress and singer with an acclaimed career spanning Broadway, television, film, and cabaret, Tina Fabrique has captivated audiences from Ragtime and Bring in ’Da Noise, Bring in ’Da Funk to Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Trouble in Mind.

She earned critical acclaim—and both the Kevin Kline Award and Carbonell Award—for her unforgettable portrayal of Ella Fitzgerald in ELLA, a role that has taken her to theaters across the country.

Now, Tina brings that incredible talent to Jazz Icons, our special closing concert honoring Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong, where she’ll share the stage with Wycliffe Gordon. 🎺

🎷 The Kruno Spisic Trio is coming to Jazz’n Downtown! 🎶

Led by Krunoslav “Kruno” Spisic, the trio puts a fresh spin on gypsy jazz, blending the infectious swing of Django Reinhardt with the rich folk traditions of Eastern Europe.

Growing up in a Croatian household, Kruno was immersed in the sounds of the Balkans and began his musical journey at age 10 playing the tambura, an Eastern European four-stringed mandolin. Today, those influences come together in a sound filled with sweet Balkan melodies and fiery Gypsy swing. 🇭🇷🔥🎸

🎷 Alicia Olatuja is coming to Jazz’n Downtown! 🎶

From singing in her St. Louis church at just five years old to making her recital debut at Carnegie Hall, Alicia Olatuja has built a remarkable career rooted in jazz, R&B, soul, gospel, and classical music.

Inspired early on by Whitney Houston, Alicia grew up surrounded by a rich tapestry of Black music before becoming classically trained as an opera mezzo-soprano. After studying Music and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, she moved to New York City and earned her Master’s in Classical Voice/Opera from the Manhattan School of Music.

Today, she’s celebrated for a voice that commands attention—and the critics have taken notice:

🎶 Meet Chino Pons! 🇨🇺

Born in Havana, Cuba, Chino Pons grew up surrounded by the rich traditions of Afro-Cuban music, from Son Cubano and Rumba to Cha Cha Cha, Danzón and Bolero. Those roots continue to shape his distinctive, modern approach to Cuban music.

After moving to New York City in 1998, Chino built his career performing on the streets and subway before becoming a respected bandleader with Grupo Irek, touring internationally and performing at major events from New York to Japan.

Today, Chino continues to bring his unique take on classic Cuban music to audiences around the world. He is also the founder of Guanabacoa Records, dedicated to preserving and celebrating traditional Cuban music.

The Galvanized Jazz Band is a dynamic group of Connecticut musicians devoted to the energetic performance of hot dixieland, New Orleans jazz, blues, rags, stomps, struts, spirituals, swing, and classic popular songs from the past century. In addition to public concerts, private parties, weddings, funerals, school programs and fund-raising events, we perform at Jazz Festivals from Maine to New Orleans and throughout New England. Recognized by Connecticut Magazine as "Best Jazz Band in the State".

🎷 Grammy winner Zaccai Curtis is coming back to Downtown Milford! 🎷

We’re thrilled to welcome Zaccai Curtis back to the Heart of the Arts on October 3rd for Jazz’n Downtown!

🏆 In 2025, Zaccai took home the Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album for Cubop Lives! He previously brought his incredible talent to The MAC in 2024, and we can’t wait to have him back.

A celebrated pianist, composer, and bandleader, Zaccai performs alongside his brother, bassist Luques Curtis, as part of the Curtis Brothers Band. Deeply influenced by jazz legends like Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, the brothers have built a sound that bridges jazz tradition with a fresh, contemporary energy.

From Blood, Spirit, Land, Water, Freedom to Completion of Proof and Algorithm, the Curtis Brothers’ music continues to push the boundaries of jazz—with Zaccai’s compositions at the heart of their sound.

🎷 Anton Kot is coming to Jazz’n Downtown!

Anton Kot is a New York City-born multi-instrumentalist and composer working across drums, piano, and composition. Recognized by BMI as a 2025 Future Jazz Master, he has performed at some of the world's most celebrated stages and festivals, led ensembles featuring saxophonists Don Braden and Albert Rivera, bassist Avery Sharpe, trumpeter Jean Caze, and pianists Caili O'Doherty and Manuel Valera, and earned a reputation as a singular voice in contemporary jazz.

He went to Foran High School and graduated from Jonathan Law 2020 and went on to receive a scholarship from MAC’s Endowment. He’ll be performing at Parsons Patio and we are happy to have him back.

"Drummer Kot dotted the performance with polyrhythms and a composer's wit. There was no groove domination—Kot played music, with the melody and harmony guiding his approach as much as the rhythmic qualities of a given piece.
