Today is a beautiful day of reflection and gratitude as I celebrate 7 years of sobriety. This is something I have been relatively quiet about in my professional realm, but truthfully the only reason I was able to open a business is because of the decision I made to stop drinking in 2019. Sunshine is one of the many blessings that followed getting sober.
We are set to celebrate three years in business on the first day of summer, another incredible milestone I never in my wildest dreams imagined I’d celebrate. I know wholeheartedly I did not get here alone, in either journey. I want to extend a moment of enormous gratitude to everyone who has helped me along the way- friends, family, customers, customers who became friends and family, pottery friends, crafters, artists, fellow business owners, and everyone who has contributed in any way to helping not just make this dream a reality, but to keeping it alive. I am humbled by the love and support that continues to surround me everyday.
After being stuck in the mentality for so long that I had to be under the influence of something to access my creativity I now stand firmly on the idea that creativity does not need to be linked to using any kind of substance. One thing I’ve learned along the way is the more I talk about it, the more it helps me heal, and the more I can help others. That said, we are a studio that is a safe place for everyone to come and simply be; to explore themselves and discover parts that are begging to be seen. My goal has been to create a place of refuge from the world, which can seem incredibly harsh at times. A place where we can share love, and be seen. If you are struggling with anything, we are here for you, we love you, you are not alone.
As we enter into our fourth year in business I want to say a deep, heartfelt thank you to all of you, and hope you continue to cross our threshold so we can create even more together. Here are pics of the journey from lease signing, to the initial build out, the expansion, and beyond. Love to you all 🩵
