I don’t often use my business pages for personal matters, but this one is very close to home. 💙
This is my brother, Brian. On October 14th, he will undergo open-heart surgery to replace his aorta. The surgery itself is significant, and the recovery afterward will mean weeks out of work and months before he can return to normal lifting and activity.
That would be difficult for any family, but Brian is also a huge part of the daily care of my niece Emily, who has complex needs and currently has no in-home nursing support. While he recovers, my sister-in-law will be caring for both of them while the family also manages the loss of his income.
Annie’s Angels Memorial Fund has been part of Emily’s life—and our family’s life—for more than 18 years, and they are once again stepping up to help them through an incredibly difficult season.
If you’re able to donate, share the original post, or simply keep Brian, Emily and our entire family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming weeks, it would mean more than I can say.
We have a lot of people who follow and support our small businesses, and today I’m asking that community to help me show up for my brother. 💙
Thank you.
Donation information is in the shared post below.

🚨 THE MASTERS FAMILY NEEDS US NOW MORE THAN EVER. 💙
Brian, Emily’s dad, is facing open-heart surgery on October 14th to replace his aorta.
The Masters family has been part of the Annie’s Angels family for over 18 years, since Emily was born. We have walked alongside them through so much. Now, they are entering one of their hardest seasons yet, and we are asking our community to surround them.
Doctors have told the family that Brian is very sick. Before surgery, he will undergo multiple tests, labs, an ultrasound and cardiac catheterization. During surgery, he will be placed on bypass, followed by time in the ICU and an expected 5 to 7 days in the hospital.
Recovery will be long. Brian will be out of work for at least 8 weeks and unable to lift for at least 12 weeks.
That means he will also be unable to help physically with Emily’s care.
Emily currently does not have nursing support at home. Her mom is her full-time caregiver, with Brian stepping in every day when he gets home from work. For the next several months, Mom will be caring for both Emily and Brian while their family also navigates the loss of Brian’s income.
This is where we need our Angel community.
For 18 years, this family has been part of ours. Right now, they need help carrying the financial weight of what is ahead.
If you are able to donate, share their story, say a prayer or help us rally around the Masters family, every bit of support matters.
They have a difficult road ahead. Let’s make sure they don’t walk it alone. 💙
