That’s a wrap folks! Ann Arbor Art Fair 2026 is in the books. After a couple of rough days, Saturday’s clear skies and robust breezes made for an enjoyable and busy last day of the show.

See you next year! It will be number #20 for me! 😊

Day 2 of Ann Arbor Art Fair and I am here for it!

I’m in booth 812/814 on South University near State Street. The wildfire particles are a factor for sure, but folks are here and masking up if they choose. The bright side is that the particles up in the sky are diminishing the hot sun and it’s not too crowded if you choose to come on out.

This painting reflects the temporary ponds of water that collect on our property each spring. These ephemeral wetlands emerge with snowmelt and rain, transforming the landscape for a brief season before disappearing again. They provide habitat for tiny creatures and beautiful inspiration for paintings. This piece is called “Ephemeral Ponds” and is posted on my website under available paintings. Link in profile. Design photos are shown for inspiration.

Mocking up “Song Sung Blue” with a Birdseye Maple floater frame for the customer that bought the piece. I paint the edges of my paintings so that collectors can choose not to frame, or decide to frame later. I think this floater definitely elevates the piece. I just started carrying a line of solid wood floater frame styles that work well with my pieces. I like the idea that my pieces are getting real wood frames from a small business at a fair price.

Art Birmingham is this weekend, May 9–10—my first outdoor art fair of the season.

I’ll be sharing new work from The Quiet Work of Birds, a series that explores nurturing, joy, and the quiet persistence to carry on. There’s something sacred to me about the act of building a nest, and the way birds sing their way through the day. It’s a subject I’m drawn back to, again and again, each spring.

If you’re nearby, I’d love to see you there. Event is posted on this page for details.
