🍂🎨 A2 Oktoberfest is happening today! ☕️

It’s a beautiful fall day to get out, enjoy some art, and support local artists!

I’m set up right in front of Rally House, surrounded by a wonderful group of about 100 regional artists. Come stroll the show, discover something new, and say hello!

And here’s your coffee assignment: ☕️ Grab yourself a hot cup of Badass Women Blend from my favorite coffee house, RoosRoast Coffee on Liberty near Main, and sip your way through the art fair. Perfect way to spend a Sunday!

We started off with a bang this morning at the in downtown Ann Arbor. I’m set up on Main Street right in front of Rally House. After following my work for a bit, this woman came in on a mission and picked an original for her home. She was as lovely as the painting and commented that the show is like “the best of” from the Ann Arbor Art Fair. 🥰

From St. James Court to its new home. ❤️

One of my favorite parts of being an artist is seeing where a painting ends up after it leaves my booth. This one made it to its farmhouse in Indiana.

This little still life found a beautiful new home after the St. James Court Art Show in Louisville, Kentucky and I love seeing it here—thank you Robin Frost-Bess for choosing it!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth at St. James Court. Every painting eventually finds a home and I’m grateful that job is part of my journey. 🎨

There’s something extra special about another artist choosing one of my paintings. ❤️

We art fair artists spend our weekends at shows seeing so much work… so when a fellow artist connects with a piece enough to take it home, it really means something to me. This piece found its person and there is a spot in the kitchen of an Indiana farmhouse waiting for it. I can’t imagine a better forever home! 🏡🎨

Rain at the art fair? Old Louisville don’t care. ☔️🎨 They are out to beat tomorrow’s crowds. 😳

Happy Saturday, everyone! 🎨☕️🏈

Color is my starting point today.

Before the brushes and knives hit the canvas, there’s this familiar ritual: a palette full of possibility and a cup of black coffee.

I never quite know where these colors are going to take me. Some will make it onto the canvas, some will be mixed into something entirely unexpected, and some will simply be part of the conversation that informs my decision to modulate what is there.

Here’s to a slow mornings, good coffee, college football, and the joy of making art.

🌻 Sunflowers are coming to Rochester!

I’ve been spending a lot of time painting the sunflowers that grow around our rural homestead, and I’m bringing three of those new paintings with me to this weekend’s Art & Apples Festival in Rochester.

Sunshine Volunteers — sunflowers that began as volunteer seedlings, returning on their own and creating their own exuberant little community - 30” x 30”.

Sunflower Chorus — a gathering of blooms, each one different, but somehow singing together - 30” x 30”.

And Wild Sunlight — a little looser, a little wilder, and full of that late-summer abundance I never want to see end - 36” x 36”.

Along with these new sunflower paintings, I’ll have a fresh collection of original oil paintings and prints in my booth.

If you’re looking for something beautiful to do this weekend, come wander through Rochester Municipal Park, enjoy the art, grab an apple treat, and say hello. I’d love to see you!
