Throwback Thursday! It feels like just yesterday we moved into The Bridge UMC at the lower level to pursue our dream of opening a gaming space in Milan, Michigan. Can you believe how empty it once looked? What do you think?

We have to talk about Sweet Home.

This 1989 NES survival horror title never made it to the US, but fans translated it to English in 2017. You play as a group of documentary filmmakers exploring a haunted mansion. The catch? Death is permanent. Lose a character and they’re gone for good.

A few things that make it special:

* Every character has unique tools you’ll need to survive
* Permanent death keeps every decision and encounter tense
* A single line of dialogue inspired an entire horror franchise

Can you guess which one? Here’s the line:

“You must leave this place. It is a residence of evil.”

Come in and find out if you’re right!

Our friends Crystal and Sara at Green Witch Gardens just put on the coolest isopod adoption event ever!

In addition to all of their helpful guidance and coursework on forest floor ecosystems, we also got to pick out a nice little group of 24 new isopods for our critter corner! We’re calling the colony “Bokujoh” (pronounced boh-koo-joh)- which is basically Japanese for “pasture” or “dairy farm.” We’re not sure if these little guys are dairy cow isopods or not, but we’re going for it anyway.

Not a chance that we’ll remember 24 names, right? 😆

So, thank you so much Crystal and Sara- we’re so appreciative and we can’t wait to see these lil’ guys go to work!

As the kids say, “Nick be bugsmaxxing?”

I don’t know.
