Tonight for our monthly artist demo we have Reian Williams explaining proportions and values for portrait painting. He does a charcoal sketch first, then refines it with Conte pencils. Then he adjusts temperature with warm or cool soft pastels. This sketch will inform his final oil painting.

A MDAG member helped April 6th demo artist Kathy Hall (on left) during her demonstration of Wet Felting. It was amazing to see how water, soap, and friction on sheep's wool was used before weaving was invented to make clothing. Kathy is a Visual Arts and Art History teacher in the Norman Public Schools. We witnessed primitive human history! Kathy may offer a wet felting workshop this summer. Besides the fabric art, Kathy made an Oven Mitt without sewing the sides! Thank you Kathy for sharing this skill, joining MDAG, and becoming Program Chair VP.

Our guest artist on Monday, April 6 was Katy Hall, who did a fascinating presentation on WET FELTING.
