When two artists meet… ✨

Back in July, Atlanta glass artist Laurie Douglas Laurie Douglas had the booth next to mine at the Brookhaven Arts Alliance show. I fell in love with her glass work, she loved mine, and naturally we started talking about what it might look like to bring our two mediums together.

We went through my work looking for just the right piece, and landed on Sheeba, my colorful, warrior-like woman.

And voilà! Look at what Laurie created. 😍

I absolutely love seeing Sheeba reimagined in glass. Laurie captured her strength, color and movement while bringing something completely new to her through the transparency, texture and light of glass.

This is one of my favorite things about being an artist. Sometimes you meet another creative, start talking, start imagining…and something neither of you would have created alone comes out of it.

Painting meets glass. Sheeba, reimagined. ❤️

Laurie, I think we may be onto something here! 😉

🎨 A NEW PROJECT IS UNDERWAY! 🎨

As part of the upcoming Gallery Crawl, we’re thrilled to announce that award-winning local artist Lola Okunola will be creating an interactive art piece in the Corner Tavern Beer Garden! ✨

Lola uses paper, fabric, paint, and collage to create vibrant works that celebrate identity and the beauty of human connection. This new piece will be publicly displayed on the Corner Tavern patio—and you can help bring it to life!

🍻 Corner Tavern is donating 20% of sales on August 25 and September 29, from 5–9 PM, to help fund this public art project.

Come grab dinner, meet Lola, connect with some of our Main Street Board members, and be part of creating something special for our community!

It’s always an honor to be a judge for the annual “Paint The Dome” event and an honor to serve on the Brookhaven Arts & Culture Commission where we celebrate the amazing talent we have in our community. Congratulations to all the winners and honorable mentions! Their work is now on display at Brookhaven City Hall.

From a sketch to a story. ❤️

Every painting begins with a simple idea.

For this commission, my collector wanted a piece inspired by my “We Are Family” painting, but this time with just two people in love.

Watching this evolve from a few pencil lines into a finished painting was a reminder that the most meaningful works often begin with the simplest sketches.

This one challenged me in the best way. Every decision, from the composition and color palette to the expressions and geometric patterns, was about capturing warmth, comfort, and connection.

One of my favorite surprises this week… seeing Dancing with the Stars in its new home, overlooking the High Museum of Art in the heart of Midtown Atlanta.
