Welcome to Kudzu Blossom Studio! Here you will find beautiful handmade items from fiber artist, Lacey Yeend. From handspun to handknit hats, all items are handmade here in Alabama.
About the Artist Lacey Yeend is a knitter, spinner, crocheter, dyer, weaver, and all around fiber artist and maker. She learned crochet in her Grandma Laverneās lap as a little girl, and later, she taught herself to knit to cope the stress of her senior year of college. Spinning, dying, and weaving all came later as she fell more in love with the world of yarn and fiber. She has worked in a yarn store, exhibited at the Georgia National Fair, and taught at local fiber festivals in Georgia and Alabama. Now, as a work-at-home mama to her turbo two year old, John, she fits her fiber arts in between naps and housework (except dusting...she hates to dust).
About the Art All items are handmade. Some use commercial yarns while others use repurposed materials or handspun yarn. All items will be listed with their fiber content. All items are crafted in a smoke free, pet free, toddler friendly environment. If you are highly allergic to peanuts, you may want to skip these items as pb&j sandwiches are ever present in the house.
About Kudzu Lacey has always been fascinated by the hard to kill, fast growing kudzu vine found everywhere in South Georgia and Alabama. A few years ago, she discovered that the vine had beautiful purple blooms when she was gifted delicious kudzu blossom jelly. Itās hard to spot the flowers, but if you look hard enough in the early fall, you can find them - like a cross between a snapdragon flower and wisteria bloom. When it came time to dream up a name for her cottage business, kudzu just kept popping up in her mind. She bets she could even knit with the vine if she put her mind to it.
