What we’re striving for with Passion Theatre Group is to change the way people see theatre in this area. To put on shows that will challenge our thoughts, stomp on our everyday conventions, and really change us. We don’t care about catering to everybody’s wishes or sugarcoating everything to make it socially acceptable. Theatre is about pushing boundaries and being able to bring the deepest and da
rkest realities to the light in the realest way possible. We will not run like a normal community theatre. While we will still put on shows that can bring in a large audience, expect many darker, nail-biting, avant-garde performances that might make you squirm in your seat. Shows will be put on in a variety of unique spaces as to create new and exciting theatre experiences, including possibly taking some shows on the road! Whether this group will stay located in this area or not is up in the air; we will move wherever opportunity strikes! Included will be original shows written by determined theatre artists, not only from the Great Lakes Bay Region but from anyone is interested. Also, instead of just choosing the season’s shows and then having interested directors submit themselves for one, we will have directors submit themselves along with a show or shows they’re passionate about directing.
