Our first “Science and Stories” starts this Friday from 10 AM- 12 PM. Parents are welcome to drop off or stay. Our story for the week is Jack and the Beanstalk and we will be building our beanstalks and helping Jack find ways to escape!

Program Highlight #3: Dance & Theater Ministry Classes

Ministry classes are the cornerstone of our programs; we love teaching the arts but first and foremost we want to disciple the students to follow Christ so they can use the talents they have been given to serve and worship Him. Ministry classes give us a chance to study the Bible with the students, do service projects, work on worship services and performances and so much more.

Because we want this to be an option for everyone- these classes are tuition free. Each class has just a small supply fee to cover the semester, but no monthly charge.

Program Highlight #2: Theater

The theater program at The River begins at age 4 with Children's Theater. Students learn to memorize short poems and plays, how to follow stage directions, and begin bringing characters to life in a fun, engaging class. If your student loves to talk, pretend, or tell stories- this is the class for them.

After Children's Theater, students can move on up through the levels- we have theater classes available for ages all the way up to 18!

Classes start in 1 week!
There are a lot of program options to choose from at The River- so this week we are going to take some time to highlight some of the options that may need a little extra explanation. :)

First up- Boys Only Dance! While boys are certainly welcome in all of our classes, we offer 2 classes that are BOYS ONLY! Bear Cubs is the class for boys ages 3-5 and Cheetahs is for boys ages 6-10.

God created boys and girls to function differently, and sometimes that means they need to be taught differently. The boys only classes are a great time for boys to be able to learn dance with all their amazing boy energy and strength! They thrive learning difficult tap rhythms, building arm and core strength in hip hop tricks, and mastering high energy choreography- their bodies are made for it! In class they will- learn tap and hip hop, work on coordination with obstacle courses and climbing, work through strength building tasks, and have silly races and games. It's a ton of fun!

If you aren't sure what this looks like- that's OK- it's not a super common way to do dance in our culture. You are welcome to come on in and try it out- no commitment needed. Just make an account at www.theriverfinearts.com and schedule a trial class!
