Sharp tools are essential for intricate cutting. I use scissors and an x-acto knife. Building layers with multiple pieces is a fun process. I find images at estate sales, yard sales, and used book stores. This approach makes creating an altered book truly one-of-a-kind. 🥰

Creating a finished page in an altered book can be a lengthy process. Prepping your book, adding backgrounds and ephemera, adding color and hidden gems. Remember, it’s often the journey not the destination that makes it worth the while.

So, are we still doing grunge in our art? I love making something new look old. I will be showing you this technique during our waterfall class on the 14th. Prefer it light and happy? The waterfall is great for a card or junk journal too. Grunge not required. 🥰
