Using a photo of my own work as clickbait because I had such a good time teaching this month that I forgot to take any pictures! I think that’s a good sign :)

June throwing classes are up on the site! (follow that link right in my bio) There’s a Friday night class + a Saturday night class, 4 people per evening.

And for all the parents who have inquired about kids classes, I have a kiddo pinch pot class in the works that I’ll be releasing soon!

Hello, it’s been a while! I’m not sure how many folks will even see this post but I’m here to let you know that I’m finally dusting off my teaching apron and offering two throwing classes in my studio again! The first dates are coming up quick in May - 5/13 & 5/17, 6:30-8:30pm.

Same location (65 North Street) with a slightly different studio vibe after three years of hardcore production/takeover. My husband refers to my studio as my house so it’s kinda like I’m inviting you over for tea.

Anyway. I’ve got a weeknight and a Saturday night class, 4 seats per night, and you get to learn and play and make whatever you want. It’s gonna be fun. I’ve linked the class page in my bio. Maybe I’ll seeya soon!

I’ve been steadily working on some updates for our little WW world - a clay and tools section of the website so you can shop online and work from home, some new bisque ware for your painting pleasure, and just general housekeeping to keep this ship afloat even though our doors are still closed. I’ll keep you updated on the web shop and potential classes for the fall but in the meantime I gave our website banner a little facelift. You can only see if you access the site from a computer so I’m posting it here cuz it’s cute!

A reminder that there are lots of really good people out there rooting for you + me. Even from a distance I’m so grateful for this little clay community. Thank you to all the lovely customers-turned-pals who have left me doorstep presents over the past few months. I appreciate you so much.

Head on over to the account to watch a fun tutorial on how to make these botanical air dry clay dishes. The video was shot and produced by my horticulturalist, musician pal Karen and her partner Ivan on a beautiful (socially distanced) evening in the garden. I definitely wish I was less of a weirdo on camera but I’m so grateful to Karen for doing the work to transition this workshop into a free online video. I highly recommend visiting the garden. Bring a picnic and a book, wear your mask, and soak up the in surrounded by a lush green wonderland.

Introspective, empowered, supportive, community-minded, active, recharge, reflect those are words floating around in my mind lately. While it’s daunting to consider how our studio will continue to function in a COVID-cautious world we are searching within ourselves for the long term actions we can take to fight racism, promote equality, and give back to our community even from afar. We love our town and the diverse community of the people who have come to us to make art and experience clay we are always looking for the ways we can serve YOU. As we do our own deep dive, we would love your help: If you have any connections to organizations/institutions here in Middletown that supports children, art, or education that could benefit from our energy please let us know!
