Ekklesia is thrilled to announce that together with your help Ahavah raised $3,000 for our local soup kitchen, (SVDP). We feel so blessed to be able to combine our contribution with our partner in mission, Church of the Holy Trinity. Together we gave $5,000! This will allow the soup kitchen to provide over 2,000 meals for those in need. Thank you to all of the dancers, families, and volunteers that dedicated their time, talent, and effort to this production. Thank you for supporting the inaugural performance of Ahavah in Middletown! Thank You Rev Mary and the parishioners of CHT for giving Ekklesia a home and a community of love and support. Thank You Mary Ellen of SVDP for the amazing work you do every day in Middletown to help our brothers and sisters in need. We could not have done it without ALL of you! We look forward to putting on Ahavah for years to come!

Our Story

Ahavah: The Story of Christmas has become a Christmas tradition for the Shoreline Community. Taking you back in time to experience the astonishing true story behind Christmas, Ahavah is a delight for the whole family. The joy and enchantment of the season are palpable in this telling of a timeless story. Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet and Ekklesia School of Ballet join together once more to present Ahavah.

Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet and Ekklesia School of Ballet will perform Ahavah: The Story of Christmas at the new Morgan School in Clinton, CT. Performance dates Saturday, December 7 at 1 pm and 6 pm, and Sunday, December 8 at 4 pm. All proceeds from the performance will benefit The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries (SSKP).

Over the past 6 years of performing Ahavah, over $38,000 was donated to the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries. Matched by The Gowrie Group, these donations provided over 211,000 meals to our neighbors in need! Due to the high cost of food, recent cutbacks, and the rapidly growing need of our community for the meals provided by the SSKP, the SSKP increasingly relies on the income from fundraising events such as Ahavah. This partnership is a wonderful opportunity to meet the needs of hungry families in the Shoreline Community during the Christmas Season.
