Today we mourn the loss of volunteer, participant and friend Roger Conner. Roger represented the best of Middletown with his kindness and support of multiple organizations and arts groups including Middletown Lyric Theatre. We will always be grateful for the beauty he shared through his floral artistry and for who he was as a human being. He will be missed.

View Roger W. Conner's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

A small story about community
Below is an excerpt from the May newsletter, The Ambassador, for First United Methodist Church. It highlights how a community can come together to achieve meaningful goals.

"...Pastor Karen has had the idea of bringing in the Easter flowers for quite some time, so finally this year we decided to do it. Her idea was to create the unpredictable feeling of that first Easter - not being sure what to expect or know what was happening...."

So, in mid‑March, Mary Ellen Clinard who many times serves as MLT'S music directo and also serves as Worship Director at FUMC approached members of MLT about a project their pastor hoped to bring to life for the church’s Easter celebration. The request was to create a representation of the Lord’s tomb to support Pastor Karen’s vision.

After several conversations about how best to approach the task, members of MLT and church volunteers got to work. What emerged was not only a beautiful vision and lasting memory for the congregation, but also a testament to what can happen when two organizations devoted to community, art, and fellowship join forces.

A THANK YOU!
Our 47th season is underway, and we are thrilled to begin this new chapter as Lyric at the SORG while remaining firmly rooted in the history and mission of Middletown Lyric Theatre. While the historic stage of the Sorg Opera House is familiar to us — having hosted many of our productions over the years — what feels new and inspiring is the growing number of people joining us in our mission to keep theatre alive and thriving in Middletown

With the incredible support and vision of the SORG Revitalization Group and their commitment to preserving and reopening this historic space it has helped create new opportunities for the arts in Middletown and allowed us to continue pushing the boundaries of what community theatre can be for Greater Middletown.

We are deeply thankful to these organizations and businesses — both longtime supporters and new partners — as well as to the individuals who make private donations, purchase season tickets, and attend our events. Your continued support makes all of this possible

THANK YOU from
