Wrapping up mixing/mastering on Dissect The Masses EP. It's coming along nicely. A lot of Empirical Labs gear on this one. Distressor on bass, Pumps on kick and snare, FATSO on mixbus, and plenty of instances of Arousor.

Dear All,

We have been asked countless times to make a 500 series LA-2A, Pultec or Fairchild 670.
Our answer was always; it’s not possible !There was not enough space, no AC heaters, no high voltage: we would have to sacrifice the original design and the tone would suffer. That was all true, until now !

So how do you fit an LA-2A with all 4 tubes, a 33609 with all 6 transformers, an EQP-1A, CL1B or a Stamchild 670 and power up to 24 tubes in just 4U of space? Well… by creating a new format! Just 1U taller than a 500 series, we called it the 600 series !

The new patent pending 600 series format addresses all the limitations of the 500 series format by providing: high voltage rails, AC heaters, significantly more space to fit original transformers and adds virtually limitless power with an external power supply.

The 600 series will be open source, so other manufacturers can also design modules for it. It is also compatible with all existing 500 series units.

The Sta-Level, 176, EPQ-1A, LA-2A, CL1B, V72, V76, Fairchild 670, 660, 33609 and every other unit that either didn’t fit or couldn’t be powered will now be possible.

Creating a new format for the pro audio industry has been a huge undertaking and we couldn’t be happier to have done so. After taking old designs and bringing them back to life, it was time for us to create something original for future engineers.

Just wrapped up drum tracking for Tempting The Tides upcoming EP. For this EP, we're using a Hybrid drum setup. Live cymbals, e-kit for shells. This approach is a great balance between getting a real performance while reducing the amount of setup and tracking time. Also, there is no need to buy fresh heads and change each song and worry about tuning. In a day and age where the drums are supplemented quite a bit with samples, this approach can be quite effective and budget friendly.
