It’s Tony Awards night! 🎭

Did you know two shows in MPT’s 2026 summer season are Tony Award winning musicals?

My Fair Lady won 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, when it premiered on Broadway in 1957. The original production starred Julie Andrews as Eliza Doolittle, launching the career of one of musical theatre’s most beloved performers. The show remains one of the most celebrated and frequently revived musicals in Broadway history.

Cabaret followed a decade later, winning 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, in 1967. The original Broadway production introduced audiences to Joel Grey’s legendary performance as the Emcee, a role that earned him both a Tony Award and an Academy Award. Nearly 60 years after its debut, Cabaret continues to captivate audiences with its powerful story and unforgettable score.
