Another blanket is in the books! This super easy, mindless stitch is a one row repeat so there isn’t much thinking involved! It was fun to see the color progress each row. This yarn is very soft and the stitch gives the blanket so much texture!

It measures at 31”x31” and is perfect for a sweet baby boy with its gray, blues and browns. Message me if interested!

Scrap Yarn/Stash Buster Blanket

The idea of a scrap yarn blanket is to use up the leftover yarn from previous projects. Not only did I have a good amount of leftovers, but I had a TON of brand new skeins of yarn that I just never got around to using.
🧶🧶🧶
My plan was to use a color until it ran out and attach a new one and keep going. I soon found out that’s not how my OCD brain works. I had to plan it all out to make sure the colors wouldn’t clash, etc. Some nights I just had to quit and give my mind a bread and look at it with fresh eyes/ideas in the morning. 🤣
🧶🧶🧶
The tutorial I found used 3 strands of yard at one time with a very large hook, which would help this daunting project work up much quicker than usual. Once I got started, it was hard to stop. From start to finish I completed the blanket in 5 days!
🧶🧶🧶
I’m very pleased with it! It’s a very heavy blanket that will certainly bright up any room!
Let me know what you think! 😊

🎉🎉Happy 2025! 🎉🎉
I know, I’m a month behind but better late than never! I took a few months off from crocheting, but now I’m back at it.

I finally decided I HAD to finish some projects that I either got bored with or needed more yarn to complete before I started something new. So in the last week and a half I completed 2 “almost finished” blankets. I also decided to use up a ton of my yarn I’ve had stashed away by making a “scrap yarn blanket”. (That blanket deserves it own post!) 😊

Blanket 1- Stitch: ripple
Dimensions:35”x35”
Yarn: Premier Puzzle (Riddle)

This blanket was very quick to work up, and the yarn is just so soft.

Oh, my! Isn’t this just the sweetest little blanket you’ve ever seen?! So precious and perfect for the baby girl I’m gifting it to!

I made 36 individual Daisy granny squares and then whip stitched them together. For the border I did 3 rounds of single crochet followed by a round of double crochet (2 DC per SC from the row below) to give it the ruffle appearance. To finish it off and make it more “ruffley” I did a picot stitch on top of the ruffles.

The finished project measures 27”x27”.
Yarn is Baby Bee Sweet Delight in Pink-a-Boo, Angel and Sunkisses.
I used a 4.5mm hook.

Introducing the Granny Chevron blanket!

So fun and quick to whip up and with the color variations who wouldn’t like this beauty!

I used Premier Puzzle yarn in color way Trivia with a J hook. I did manipulate some of the coloring because I wanted more of the pinks and blues.

It measures 41”x43”.

This blanket is up for grabs. Message me if interested in purchasing!

Thanks to Hooked by Robin for another well created pattern and YouTube video tutorial!

Another baby blanket is complete! My customer asked for blues and gray with some black. I love how the black makes the rest of the blanket pop!

It is toddler-sized so it can be used for many years to come!

Happy Spring!

Spring has sprung here in central PA, and I sure hope it’s here to stay!

I found this super cute idea from Daisy Cottage Designs and had to give it a try!
They are dish/washcloths rolled up and tied to form bunny ears! It’s so easy and fun! Perfect for Easter gifts! 🐇🌷

HAPPY 2024!

A year ago today I embarked on a new crochet project I never thought I would ever dream of doing. But I’m so glad I did! 😊

Each morning when I woke up I recorded the temperature (which was usually the low temp for the day) and then I would also record the high for the day. Then I would make (not always on the same day!) a hexagon that represented those temperatures. For example, 90 degrees=red, 80 degrees=orange, etc. Well, I am please to announce that I completed the blanket, all 365 hexagons, right on time!

I have learned quite a few things in making this massive blanket. First, procrastination is not a good quality to possess when taking on such a challenge! I did really good in keeping up with it for the first 6 months, but then I was away on the other side of the world for 2 weeks, and there were several times when I ran out of some yarn and dragged my feet in ordering more. Lesson learned when I found myself a month behind! 😬

Secondly, I learned it’s ok to not be perfect. I made 2 hexagons where the low temp is not in the center, the high temp is! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I will not be making another temperature blanket in the near future, BUT I will be entering this one in some local fairs this year. That’s something I’ve never done before so we shall see how it goes.

Some facts about the blanket…

🧶The temperatures are based on my hometown in central PA, except for one week in Maine (February), 2 weeks in Asia (June), and 1 week in Wyoming/Montana (October).

🧶The blanket measures approximately 90” by 102”.

🧶The lowest temperature recorded was in the single digits (only once all year) while in Maine.

🧶The highest temperature recorded was in the 90’s, 20 days.

🧶The most recorded low temp was the 30’s, 91 days.

🧶The most recorded high temp was the 50’s, 80 days.

🧶The highest recorded low temperature was the 70’s, 15 days.

🧶There were 23 days where the temperature remained the same, no color variation in the hexagon.

🧶All yarn was from Hobby Lobby, I Love This Yarn by Yarn Bee.

🧶Much thanks to Pretty Peaceful’s YouTube video for the simplest hexagon instructions!
