The easels are folding up and the masterpieces are here! Over 40 artists spent October painting Middleboro’s golden light—from cranberry bogs at harvest and the haunting ruins of Oliver Mill Park to sweeping Thompson Street vistas and the charm of South Main Street.
Now it’s your turn to see it all at True Grit Art Gallery’s Third Annual Nemasket Plein Air Festival !

We’re about a week out from the Nov 5 deadline, and only 25 of 42 artists have signed the drop-off schedule.😬
If you haven’t yet, please do this NOW — we must know when you’re coming!

🌟Announcing Our 2025 Nemasket Plein Air Festival Juror: Kris Occhino! 🎨
We’re thrilled to reveal that Kris Occhino, one of our own regularly represented artists at True Grit Art Gallery, will be the sole juror for this year’s Nemasket Plein Air Festival juried exhibit!
With a B.S. in Studio Art from Skidmore College and an M.A. in Art Education from RISD, Kris brings deep expertise and a discerning eye. She’s a Signature Member of the North East Watercolor Society and Rhode Island Watercolor Society, an Artist Member of the Cape Cod Art Center, and a proud member of the New England Watercolor Society and American Watercolor Society. Her award-winning work in watercolor, acrylic, and oil has been featured in museums, galleries, and prestigious shows across New England and beyond. A former Director of the Attleboro Arts Museum and the RI Watercolor Society, Kris knows art inside and out—and now she’ll be judging yours!
Kris will evaluate submissions based on artistic merit, creativity, and regional/seasonal depiction of southeastern Massachusetts, awarding:
🥇1st Place: $300 + Ribbon
🥈2nd Place: $150 + Ribbon
🥉3rd Place: $100 + Ribbon
🏅Two Honorable Mentions:
Ribbons and Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception: Saturday, Nov 8, 6–8 PM at True Grit Art Gallery.
