🍂 WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER, C4 FAMILY! 🏁
We are officially under two weeks away from our next C4 Club Meet on Saturday, September 12th, and the countdown is on for our massive Fall Fest 2026 on Saturday, September 26th in Kingsville!

We’re also pushing hard to help young Chuckie hit his goal of 915 unopened diecast cars for the children at Nemours Children’s Hospital.

📦 Sept 12 Meet Drop-Off: Chris Green will be on-site collecting factory-sealed Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and Monster Trucks.

🏁 Sept 26 Fall Fest Drop-Off: James Sr. will be collecting donations trackside.

Back in 2003, Hot Wheels celebrated its 35th Anniversary by dropping one of the most iconic animated series in diecast history: Hot Wheels: Highway 35 World Race!

Recruited by the mysterious Dr. Peter Tezla to hunt down the Wheel of Power across interdimensional racing tracks, 35 elite drivers split into 5 powerhouse squads—each equipped with Nitrox 2 boosters, grappling hooks, and insane terrain abilities.

🏁 RACER SPOTLIGHT: THE GERMAN TURBO BEAST! 🏁
If you’ve spent any time scouting the teams of the C4 DRL running in The OnSite Computers Charm City Cup Diecast Racing Series, you know that track dominance comes in many shapes and sizes. But when a widebody European monster steps up to the starting line, the competition takes notice. Today, we are shining the spotlight on a modern mainline speed demon: the Hot Wheels Audi 90 Quattro (Gray #25)!

📜 THE DIECAST ORIGIN STORY:
Modeled after the legendary 1989 Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO that conquered American road courses with 700+ horsepower, Hot Wheels captured every bit of that racing heritage at 1:64 scale. Featuring an aggressive, boxy widebody design, flared squared-off wheel arches, and an ultra-low front splitter, this specific Gray #25 variant pairs a sleek, modern aesthetic with pure track-bred aggression.

⚙️ WHY IT WINS ON THE LANES:
Ultra-Wide Stance & Stability: The exaggerated IMSA widebody fenders give this casting a wide, planted footprint. This keeps it tracking straight and prevents it from bouncing side-to-side against the lane dividers, saving precious speed.

🌊 CASTING Fun Facts: THE LEGEND OF DEORA II! 🏄‍♂️
Few castings in Hot Wheels history bridge the gap between 1968 classic roots, modern design, and pop-culture royalty quite like the Deora II.

🎨 THE DESIGN & HERITAGE
A Modern Classic: Debuting in the 2000 First Editions, the Deora II was penned by designer Nathan Proch as the official modern successor to Harry Bradley’s original 1968 "Sweet 16" Deora.

Futuristic Lines: While it retained the front-entry cab and dual surfboards in the rear bed, Proch traded the sharp, boxy lines of the '60s concept for radical, sweeping aerodynamic curves—famously drawing design cues from the rear hatch bubble of a 3rd-gen Ford Ta**us station wagon!

📺 POP CULTURE ROYALTY
Highway 35 Leader: In 2003, the Deora II hit ultimate icon status as Car #01 in Hot Wheels: Highway 35 World Race, piloted by Wave Rippers team leader Josef "Vert" Wheeler.

AcceleRacers Drama: It returned as a powerhouse in the AcceleRacers series—upgraded to 750 horsepower before meeting its legendary split-in-half fate in the Storm Realm.

From 1:64 to Reality: For Hot Wheels' 35th Anniversary, Mattel partnered with legends Chip Foose, Five Axis Wheels, Mother's, and PPG to build a fully functional, real-world 1:1 scale show car powered by a Cadillac NorthStar V8.

Hall of Fame Entry: After debuting at the SEMA Show, the full-scale Deora II was inducted into the Hot Wheels Hall of Fame at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles—driven onto the stage by Carson Lev and Jay Leno!
