Self-Illuminating. Oil on canvas. Work in progress, 7' x 3' depicts a cliff in Canyon de Chelly with a transparent figure with a bird. I'm thinking about the spiritual feeling of being in such a vast place and need to ensure their survival.

Here are two versions of this diptych still a work in progress. They are two 30 x 40 inch oil paintings. Together 5 feet by 3.5 feet together. The top two are from today; the bottom two are from last February. I have been slowly developing the spaces, shapes, and details. I start with a dark blue ground and the painting develops its light out of this. Hope you can see the development. .
