PATHWAYS OF PROGRESS | Public Art

From concept to creation. A journey of color, movement, and transformation.

A behind-the-scenes look at the creative process of Pathways of Progress, a dimensional public art installation created for the Florida Department of Transportation in Ocala, Florida. Ocala Cultural Arts Marion Cultural Alliance Ocala/Marion County, FL Official FDOT Instagram

Inspired by Marion County’s equestrian heritage, transportation history, and natural landscapes, this piece brings together 60–80 individually crafted PVC elements, layered, painted, and assembled to create a vibrant composition celebrating connection, evolution, and progress.

Every layer tells part of the story. Every color brings it to life.

Art that connects people, places, and history.

I’m pleased to be part of The Shapes of Power, the anual MIAMI INTERNATIONAL FINE ARTS Residents Exhibition at the University of Miami Gallery at The Chapel University of Miami , curated by Shirley Moreira

For this exhibition, I present Hierarchies of Matter, continuing my exploration from Nature Within and reflecting on how we assign value to matter—what we extract, transform, preserve, or discard. Through recovered materials, fragmentation becomes a space for reconstruction, memory, and new meaning.

📅 Opening Reception: October 7, 5:00–8:00 p.m.
📍 University of Miami Gallery at The Chapel
6565 Red Road, Room 112, Coral Gables, FL 33143
🗓 On view through October 30, 2026

“When matter regains meaning, the hierarchy begins to fracture.”
