GEMS is officially starting for real! This year, we’re bringing some of the most exciting films of the year to Miami. Tomorrow’s classics. Today. Tickets go on sale OCTOBER 7, and we already have one sold-out film 👀 So, you’ll want to move fast.

For GEMS 2026, we wanted the artwork to feel as timeless as the films we celebrate. A look back at an era that helped shape Miami, the days of physical film reels, and the magic of movies that never really gets old.

More films. More names. More GEMS. And some announcements you’ll want to catch the moment they drop. Stay tuned — we’re just getting started.

Maria (Saoirse Ronan), a primary school teacher doing her best to inspire a class of 10-year-olds, is stifled by one unruly and chaotic student. With her career on the line and the child’s behavior spiraling out of control, Maria makes a series of increasingly bad decisions that lead to her accidentally locking them inside her home.

Desperate to backtrack, Maria finds herself in a very complicated predicament as the class begins to flourish and the staff and parents are thrilled with the improvement.

Members! Don't forget to claim your spot for August's Miami Film Festival Society screening. Become a member to experience THE RIVALS OF AMZIAH KING starring MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY.

Deep within the backwoods of rural Oklahoma, charismatic and musically gifted Amziah King herds a bluegrass-playing band of misfits while overseeing the premier honey-making operation in town. When his estranged foster daughter unexpectedly returns, Amziah leaps at the possibility to renew their connection and create a family business. But the honey game is ruthless, and rival beekeepers threaten to destroy everything Amziah has built.

Join us for this special screening of THE DIVINE TRAGEDY, in partnership with Outshine Film Festival!

After 25 years together, Cristian’s life is upended when his long-term relationship ends abruptly. Forced to abandon his life of luxury, he moves in with his half-brother Roy, a much younger, openly gay man whose chaotic lifestyle clashes with Cristian’s need for order. As the two opposites navigate cramped quarters, old wounds, and new beginnings, they must learn to coexist—and maybe even support each other—in ways neither expected. THE DIVINE TRAGEDY is a sharply funny, yet tender dramedy about midlife reinvention, unexpected brotherhood, and the messy, beautiful process of starting over when everything you knew falls apart.

🗓️ Tues, Aug 11 at 7:30PM

The three grants of $5K each have been awarded to films currently in production or post-production and will be screened as part of the Miami Film Festival upon completion.
