This situation in Russia just got even more concerning... Multiple hospitals in Siberia have reportedly been placed under quarantine and nearly 200 people who had contact with a 28-year-old Anti-Plague Institute worker are under medical observation following her mysterious death.

Local reports have raised concerns that Daria Shipilova may have contracted pneumonic plague.

Now the White House is monitoring the situation.

Russian health officials have NOT confirmed plague as her cause of death. They currently describe her illness as pneumonia of unknown origin.
