UNITED STATES / SPAIN GASTRONOMY ASSOCIATION (USSGA) OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES TO PROMOTE SPAIN'S FOOD, WINE, CULTURE, HOSPITALITY, AND TOURISM IN THE UNITED STATES
New organization aims to become the leading consumer platform connecting Spain and the United States through gastronomy.
MIAMI, FL โ June 2026 โ The United States / Spain Gastronomy Association (USSGA) today announced its official launch, establishing a new platform dedicated to promoting Spain's gastronomy, food and wine, hospitality, culture, and tourism throughout the United States.
The Association was created to strengthen the relationship between Spain and the United States through what it defines as the four pillars of gastronomy:
Food & Wine + Hospitality + Culture + Tourism = Gastronomy
While many organizations focus primarily on trade and business-to-business initiatives, the USSGA was established with a strong consumer focus. Its mission is to increase awareness of Spain's culinary traditions, wines, destinations, hospitality industry, and cultural heritage among American consumers while creating opportunities for Spanish businesses, organizations, and destinations to engage with the U.S. market.
"The USSGA was founded on a simple belief," said Mario R. Pi, Founder and President of the Association. "Spain has one of the world's richest gastronomic traditions, but gastronomy is much more than food. It is the combination of food and wine, hospitality, culture, and tourism that creates a complete experience. Our goal is to help bring that experience to life for consumers throughout the United States."
The Association will pursue its mission through strategic partnerships, consumer experiences, educational initiatives, cultural programming, tourism promotion, hospitality activations, media initiatives, and signature events designed to showcase Spain and its many regions.
One of the Association's flagship platforms will be the Miami Seafood Festival and U.S. Paella Championship, scheduled for January 30, 2027, at Tropical Park in Miami, Florida.
The event will bring together consumers, chefs, restaurants, wineries, tourism organizations, cultural institutions, food producers, hospitality companies, and governmental entities in a large-scale celebration of gastronomy. The U.S. Paella Championship is being developed as a premier culinary competition and promotional platform highlighting Spain's most iconic dish while helping introduce consumers to the broader Spanish gastronomic experience.
Over time, the USSGA plans to expand its programming to include regional promotions, culinary tourism initiatives, wine and food experiences, cultural events, educational programs, networking opportunities, and strategic collaborations with organizations in both Spain and the United States.
The Association is currently seeking founding members, strategic partners, sponsors, cultural organizations, tourism entities, wineries, restaurants, food producers, hospitality companies, and governmental stakeholders interested in supporting its mission.
