Galerie Monnin’s history is especially the story of a family deeply anchored to the realistic and t
he imaginary Haïti. Gaël Monnin, third generation of the gallery's legacy established in 1956, a communication, public relations and computer science specialist carries on with determination the heavy load of responsibilities that her grand-father, Roger Monnin, and father, Michel Monnin, have legated to her. Her sister Pascale Monnin, one of Haiti's leading contemporary artists, and mother Toni Monnin, unequal and always smiling saleswoman, have joined her in her efforts to change the worlds misconceptions about the art of Haiti. Together these three women realize that a face lift to rejuvenate the gallery is necessary to assure the gallery’s continuation. Galerie Monnin through local and international marketing strategies is branding itself as THE reference for authentic art from Haiti.
